Recap:
After 3 cycles showing a lot of blue we have a mega bounce occuring
Yesterday -
AMPS: 317
+6 : 139
+7 : 121
+10 : 137
+11 : 194
PMPS: 216
+1 : 382
+3 : 473
+7 : 403
+11 : 371 - he ate 1.5 oz of food here so I don't understand why that doesn't seem to be reflected in his AMPS :?:

Not a great report this morning, I hate to complain when we're comparatively well off but mama bean is feeling quite distressed. Looks like he spent most of the night in the red and he is not himself at all this morning. He is very unsettled and tetchy, wild almost, he filled the litter box with urine last night (this is the first time this has happened with Vyktor), he is drinking large amounts and ravenously hungry. Trying to remind myself this is just a bounce and will clear but like all of us it breaks my heart to see him not right

Also reminding myself that others have bigger problems:
Hoping that Marje's DM shows some significant improvement today as the drugs start clearing her body.
Hoping that Sid does the same for Lydia
And that Smokey and Jasper both make it home.

Try and catch a ketone test if you can. I am looking at his SS and trying to figure out why such a HARD bounce. Attie bounces hard from really low numbers like the other day.

No kibble raid compounding things? Only other thing I could think of is he is still settling in and the liver is still getting its signals crossed.

The drinking and peeing the large amounts of water is from the red numbers. The body is trying to flush all that extra glucose out of his system. The hunger is coming from his body doing one of two things. Working hard to flush or because all the glucose "gates" are closed at the cell and he is not utilizing his food at high numbers ( one basic form of diabetes).

No kibble in the house to raid he had urine crystal issues as a young fella so dry food has not been a big part of his diet for 10 years, on and off I used to give him a few pieces a day because I believed the teeth cleaning myth, but he was never that keen on it and it has not been given at all since the diabetes dx. Last ketone test (urine) was 01/17 and have just realised this condo should be dated 01/19 for us - oops.

So I guess its his liver playing up then. I have never had him in prolonged red numbers like that so I suppose it's no wonder he was showing all those symptoms that I've never seen in him before

Morning and hope Vyktor comes down from the pink floor and starts feeling more like himself today.

I'm glad to see that Vyktor has come down a bit this morning, but come down a bit more, little man! Pretty please?

It is distressing to see the high numbers, especially compared to the pretty low numbers that bring on the bounce. But it will clear, and looks like he's trying to do that right now. That almost yellow PMPS may be blue before the night is over. Patience pants time.

Hi guys .. it is always sad to see our kitties so high and the effects it has on their little bodies .. but we have to remember, if ketones are not present and we know it's a bounce, all we can do is wait it out .. I know it's hard, but hang in there .. you'll see better numbers soon enough!
