I'm guessing he's bouncing from something he did yesterday while I was at work. And I am guilty of helping him to the high numbers by what I fed him last night. I had given him some cypro at PMPS, and he only ate a little of his food. When I got home from the vet hospital (to pick up his new pre-dental antibiotics), to get him to eat (so I could go to sleep) I added some FF Gravy Lovers to the top of his LC food and he licked up all the HC and left the LC, so I added a few EVO Dry kibbles, and I went to bed.

I just gave him his second dose of Antirobe (Clindamycin) drops 2ML (which seems like a LOT of "drops"), and he twisted his head and fought me with his claws, but most of it got in. I tasted a drop that fell onto my hand, and it tastes horrible!!! No wonder he fights me.

It looks like a nice day outside today.

Hi Dyana,
I'm giving Boots Clindamycin too. It is nasty stuff. I haven't been bit. Because I've been forcing water down with a syringe,
I was wrapping around her neck a towel, so automatically did that with med. too.

Morning Dyana, I hope J.D. clears out that bounce and gets back to himself in a jiff. Sorry about those yucky meds. Too bad they can't make that stuff takes like the food they like. I hope you have a good day with kitty snuggles. mary and oliver

i can't get clindamycin drops into any of my kitties. i end up wearing most of it!
now i mix the contents of a clindamycin capsule in their food. they don't seem to notice. if my vet is out of capsules he gives me the tablets. i crush them between two spoons and mix in food. maybe your vet will give you a capsule/tablet or two so you could try it with J.D.? it sure beats those yucky tasting drops!

Last dental/different vet, I was given the tablets and crushed them into his food. I will ask for the tablets for after the dental.
OMG that little drop I tasted was horrible and it coated my whole mouth with it's horrible taste. Yuck!

I was just reminded out giving FortiFlora. Thanks Bruce ;-)

Good luck getting the ab into J.D. I hate having to give liquids to cats. It's always a fight. I hope J.D. slides down for you today.

Yeah "drops" :roll: When I called the vet to moan about the huge size of the Clindamycin pills, he said he did have it in liquid form.
This has never been a favorite of mine (or any cat I've ever had) but I asked how much each dose would consist of..
"1 and a half Dropper-fuls" So let me see... I can do this TWICE for every dose? No thanks ;-)

J.D. and Ginger and I went for a decent walk around the woods at +7, then he came back inside and had some slightly wet poo, although not too bad. He just ate his 5th? "Breffis", so is doing well with the appetite (((knock on wood)))...

I just gave him a TOR to try to nip this bounce in the budd. He ate really well today. :-D
I weighed him and he was 12lbs 8oz, last weight was 12lbs 4oz a few days ago, but that could just be the timing.

It doesn't look like the R did anything, but it may have stopped or slowed the bounce.

I heard J.D.'s tummy making gurgling noises while we were taking a short nap.
He only ate part of his 1st Dinner. Then he did some wandering about and went to bed. I brought him the rest of his dinner to (my) bed, and he's finishing it there.


I wonder if I should skip his Denamarin tomorrow night. He did get his Cyanocobalamine shot today. I'm pretty sure that's okay before a dental. I also wonder if the Azodyl is okay to give tomorrow morning.

I went shopping to get baby food for J.D., etc, and it took me longer than I thought, so J.D.'s antibiotics were given 14 hours after the last dose. It says to take with food, but he didn't want to eat. I gave him some cyproheptadine just now, to get one more day of good eating out of him, but I think I better give him some of the baby food now, or something that he will eat.

I also think clindamycin comes in an injection. Why can't the vet give the kitties a shot vs. the foul liquid?

Seems like J.D. only wants to drop like a rock today.

Clindamycin comes in tablet form too I have no idea why vets insist on that liquid one of my vets had one of my abys on it or we tried and I tasted it and man its major bitter :roll: no wonder its impossible to get into a cat I have the pills now much much easier they come in 25 mg and are small so if the cat was on a tiny dose then not sure if one could use pills but most adult cats are on a dose that pill form works fine.

JD seems enamored of the trampoline then the diving board, back to the trampoline and next to the diving board. Guaranteed to make the ever loving bean crazy! :twisted:

Oh, it is foul, Sienne. I tasted it to make sure it was sweet, and it was horrible tasting :evil: The first thing I thought I tasted was alcohol and then yuck yuck yuck and then it almost felt like it was trying to numb my mouth.

I'll add asking about injectable Clindamycin to my list, for the doctor. Thanks.

He was a trooper taking the last dose, but I totally understand not wanting to eat immediately after that guk :sad:
 
And the instructions say that I can mix it in with his food. A cat would have to have no taste buds or be starving to eat this stuff mixed in his food.
 
Oh my! Liquid med is the most difficult to give. Poor JD & Dyana!
