Wow, today was Ivana's worst BGL day ever - so many reds
However, she went to the vet for another enema, so I guess some of it is stress induced. We had a 9am appointment (first of the day) and arrived 10mins early, but due to an emergency case running in the door while we were waiting for the vet, we didn't get in to our consult until about 9.30am - so a lot of time spent waiting for poor Banana Girl.
Anyway, onto the poop - this enema went much smoother than the last time, probably because it was more poop and less fur so was a bit softer and she wasn't so shell-shocked about what was happening back there. The poops closer to her tummy were softer due to the Osmolax we'd given her this morning and last night, so it's good to know that worked. The vet wants us to check for ketones due to her being so high (tested her today at 0.2) and it's possible that we might need to put her on subcutaneous fluids. We'll figure that all out if/when it happens.
The Poop Plan going forward is to keep her on cans for the moment due to the higher water content, give her pumpkin twice a day and Osmolax twice a day as well as Laxapet once a day. This is to get her back into the habit of pooping, because she'd just stopped trying to go once she had one failed attempt so we need to make sure she doesn't have any more failed attempts. She is eating well again, although tonight she wouldn't eat her can + pumpkin until I stirred it for her...
