After some kind of lower numbers last night (I was getting worried when he was at 140), Buddy is back in the 400's again this morning.

Is this typical...being so high in the AM and then going low in evening?
I feel like I must be doing something wrong.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi guys .. you're not doing anything wrong .. it is typical for a cat to be higher in the mornings then in the evenings (there's actually a name for it, but can't remember off the top of my head!) Plus, until buddy get's used to being in the "lower" number ranges his little body might freak out (bounce) like it is doing this morning .. He will come back down .. I know it's hard to watch but it will all even out eventually! Hang in there ... have a great day guys!

Are you referring to the Somogyi effect? If so, this would mean I'm giving him too much. I thought the "Somogyi overswing" occurs when the insulin dose it too high??

Re: 01/16 Buddy: AMPS 465 - up & down again

Buddy's AMPS was 465
AM + 10 = 147
AM + 11 = 191

Is this possibly Somogyi effect-- bouncing from so high in the morning to low in evening?
