Definitely squinting today to see those green hues haha. Still don't know if it's Nestle or the insulin that's lost its magic. But it's usually around the 6th month mark that we change it so maybe it's time. .I'm curious about those Lantus cartridges that have been suggested to me. Gotta do some more research and see how to use them. Any advice anyone?
Today we will continue to study in preparation for my training later this week.

I used to get the Lantus cartridges from Mark's Marine Pharmacy in Vancouver, BC (canshipmeds.com) -- until the Canadian postal service went on strike.:banghead: I may be wrong, but I don't think you can get them in the US. I had to find another source and get a vial instead, but the cartridges were more economical. They are meant for use in pens, but you can draw up a dose into a syringe, just like you would with a vial.

@Tim & Pookey, where are you getting your vials for $35? I paid something like $135 for mine!!!

EDIT: I just checked the link, and guess what? The Canada Post strike is over!

Just take the cap off the pen or cartridge and use a U100 syringes and pull the insulin out of the pen! You will see a small gray rubber stopper, insert the syringe there

They are pens, Karolina. And you use them just like the vial. You draw the insulin via your syringe from the tip. it’s very easy.

And wow that's a really good price. Even with the conversion to Canadian dollars.
I find here in Toronto different pharmacies have different prices. When we were first switching to Lantus I called about 20 different pharmacies asking for their prices and finally found the cheapest that was also somewhere close to me. I've been paying $89 for 10ml vial.

You are totally overpaying Karen, Marje posted a link with some information I had given her about getting Lantus (a box of 5 pens or a vial) for $35 in the US.

I get mine for $35 at a CVS locally since the price for insulin dropped during this current administration.
Let me know if you need the link to information. I wouldn't buy from Chewy, way too expensive.

Karolina, I wonder if you can purchase in the US while you are here (would need a prescription though) to buy it. Are the prices in Canada a lot more?

I've been paying $89 (canadian) for the 10ml vial. That's the cheapest I can find. The cartridges from what I've seen so far will be over $100.
The good thing about Canada is we don't need a prescription to buy insulin.
Also if I was to get a prescription to buy in the states I wonder if a US pharmacy would even honor a Canadian prescription?

I guess you could call one and ask. Is there a cvs or Walgreens or Walmart or anything in or right near any of the airports you are at all the time??
