Just tested her at and she's at 230. Gave her a snack...the same thing she ate for breakfast. She gobbled that up too. At least she went down. She asked for more! I gave her some and she ate good. I also gave her a couple tuna chunks.


About 6 weeks ago I started giving my kitties Young Again Cat food. It has less than 2% carb so I thought it was ok. Could that change have been what is making her higher? She's been fine until just recently.

She asked for food again. I gave her mor FF and she ate well. ❤️

It's possible the Young Again is causing higher numbers. Each cat reacts differently to different foods. Can you try not giving it to Haley for a little while and see if her numbers come back down?

Hi Carla. Maybe. As of today, I took it away. she’s been eating fancy feast like crazy today and even as I type this.

That’s a relief to hear. Yes. Maybe. I took it away this morning. I thought it was ok because it has less than 2% carbs in it. Hopefully taking her away does the trick!

I will, ty, Suzanne for caring. She is a little cutie and such a good girl! I'm testing and posting twice a day. This morning she was 230 and 230 night. I just tested her and she's up to 265. Don't they usually go higher at night, anyway?

I just thought to ask you... Do you remember how long it took for their bg to come down after taking them off of YA? Did they go down to the green?

I’m sorry but I don’t recall. I would give it a couple of weeks unless the numbers go up. I’d get a test 3-4 hours after eating whenever possible to see if the bg goes down and don’t feed until you get the +3-4 test again. Fingers and paws crossed. :bighug:​

I have a vet appointment on the 25th. I’ll talk to the vet about it but I’d most likely take the advice of you wonderful ladies first.

I took her off the Young Again food yesterday so I hope by then her numbers will come down.

Ty. I understood until I got to the +3-4 part. Would you explain that please?

I guess I’ve been testing her at the wrong times :(
