Hi Carolyn,
Mon-Fri at AMPS +6 my husband and I are both at work. PMPS is 5:00am. I really feel like a failure when people ask why I can't do these. I try to do the AMPS +6 on the weekend.....Whiskers keeps peeing on our floors it has been really bad this week. The vet and I think it is behavioral. I have to agree as I have started testing more, urinating outside the box has increased...She cries at test time even though I have tried to make it a positive thing, treats, praise....Maybe we just can't do this.....

....tears now...gotta go....
Hi Cheryl,
first thing, I noticed you had gotten your PMPS, and you opened a new thread, no need to do that, k? You just update your current condo/thread (this one) with the PMPS, but dont worry about that thou. That's just a little housekeeping.
Second thing,
most important: I know how you came to adopt Whiskers (((((hugs))))) you and DH did a wonderful thing for this kitty when you took him into your home. Who knows where he could of ended up? Well, he's with you both now, and you
can do this. Do
not feel like a failure. Whiskers loves you both and I know you love him back lots.
As for unable to test more, I am with you there. I am working now, have been for a while, I wasn't when Luna was first on insulin so I was able to monitor him a lot more. But now, I too am missing half my data cuz of work (not that I'm complaining! I love my job!) But what is Luna doing in the AMPS cycle?

So I fill in the blanks in the evening cycle. I still go to bed at a decent time, I have DBF (dear boyfriend) who stays up a little bit later than me and who helps with testing and feeding Luna, plus we finally have the
oh so valuable automated timed feeder for thaose overnite snacks and daytime snacks when we are not here.
(a little tip, if you look at my SS, I fill in that I'm at "work", this way noone bugs me  )
Plus we have the precious weekends off to do curves and - oh well, I guess it's multiple testing  But that's just me. EBID (every bean is different)
When we say "test more" it doesn't mean test every hour, or run home and get a AMPS +6, if I lived close to home, I would! if I could, but I can't, so I rely on the times I am home.
You test when you can, couple of checks after PMPS, a before bedtime check, set an alarm on a weekend nite when you know you are not working, for midnite and see where he is at, plan for a curve at least one day of the weekend.
So let me just say,
yes you can! It's frustrating, and it's not fair, we've been there too, all of us here have been there.
Don't feel down or terrible or any of that negative stuff, k? We are all in this together, and here for you for support and guidance.
