First night using Petsafe5 and I accidentally turned it off (but realized at +4 lol...Jax was not impressed). That thing is huge. Perhaps I'll do some sort of comparison between it and the CateMate C500 at some point.

We'll see what the next few days bring but as of now I'm planning to increase to 1.5 on Thursday as we have to be out all day Wednesday...unless of course Jax reads the board and has other plans :p

Sorry to hear you and Jax aren't overwhelmed with the Petsafe5. I love mine, have two of them...and this is our second generation - we used one of them to death...

lol, well he didn't care also long as it opened. And it certainly does the job, I just like a lot of the features of the CatMate C500 better...ice packs cover all slots, can see all times all at once, takes AA batteries...see, a comparison is probably warranted and then each person can decide on what works for them! I will pop over to your condo but hope everything goes well for Luci :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
yeah, pet safe vs cat mate, definitely pro and con to each.
we started using the pet safe more when the cat mate was being replaced bc of turnstile failure.
kit will look forward to your review. maybe we can get it on wirecutter ;)
 
Just checked out the Petmate and yeah, it IS huge! It's like the size of a small car. If I had that I'd have to get rid of the Roomba because I would not be able to fit both in my apartment. :) Surf safely, Jax and have a great day, Susanne!

Ahh excellent, thank you! For the time being it’s easy feeding Sim because I’m at home pretty much all day every day :D but he could get used to an automatic feeder well before I’d have to leave him by himself.
 
You almost starved Jax last night?;):p Poor Jax.
Remember, they always read the board:rolleyes:. It will be interesting to see what happens with his numbers after reading his condo.

An auto-feeder be worth it even if you are home. I too am home most all day and use to joke that I was the auto-feeder :p Originally, I just used it for the PM cycle (because sleeeep!) but now I use it for AM and PM cycles - less scooping and serving of food for me! I do turn it off and resume my role as auto-feeder if Jax is having an active cycle.

when our cat mate failed and before joji proved how easy it was to get them to replace it, i had a fantasy plan of hacking it into an iot device. i’m sure we could add roomba features to that fantasy.

do cats like to chase/play w their roomba buddies? we could make it part of the play curriculum...

I always say Butters is all about “what have you done for me lately.” Almost six years of meals served on time doesn’t deter her from dramatically screaming at me for each subsequent meal:rolleyes:. Looks like she and Jax follow the same playbook.

Million dollar idea! Combo cat feeder robot vacuum! Give ‘em a little exercise. ;)
