AMPS 168

Gizmo is having the Wellness Core Beef, Venison & Lamb and Cats in the Kitchen Fowl Ball blend today - he sure does like it!

Sure hope he will be ok. I may try and come home - boss has jury duty and won't even know I am gone!

Hope everyone has a great day:bighug:. Kits - EAT.YOUR.FUDS!!.:cat:

+1.5 118

Going to throw a little HC into his LC food in the feeder - When should I come home to check on him? +4?

I am really worried this morning. Leaving for work right now.

I knew he was going to pull this - this morning. I just knew it.

Gizmo, you had all weekend to work the juice. I think coming home at +4 will be good. The HC should give him a bump for awhile.:bighug::bighug:

I'd give him some HC now before you leave. And leave some in his feeder too.

That's quite a drop, so best to over carb him.

ETA, thought you had just posted, I see it's a couple of hours now, missed your thread this morning.
Good plan leaving his feeder loaded with HC

+4 #1-102, #2-93

He has his +4.5 snack (which has HC gravy in it) in about 25 min and then another feeding at +6.5 (2 1/2 hours from now) - which also has HC gravy in it.

What to do?? I am going to change the title with 911 temporarily as I only have a few min before I have to turn around and go back to work.

I think he will be ok with his regular snack at +4.5.

But if I were in your shoes I would leave some HC for his next meal in 25 min then some of his regular fud for +6.5 (or even some MC)

If you were home then I would stick to LC at this point, but as you have to go in to work, I would err on the side of caution and give some extra carbs.

Ok, gave him about 1 1/2 HC teaspoon now. He has about 1 teaspoon HC (maybe a bit more) in his +4.5 and +6.5. I think he will be ok? What say you.

This is nerve wracking!

He's pretty flat Lizzie. You can add a little HC to his next few meals as a precaution.
He had MC at his +2.5 snack - so that BG was possibly influenced by that. Hence my concern. If I was home he would be riding it out with me testing hourly. :banghead:

The HC was added to his LC so it is technically MC except for the 1 1/2 HC teaspoon that I gave him at +4.

I updated the SS to reflect MC at snacks and made a note in the "notes" section. Let me know if more info would be helpful and what to add if any.

Thanks @Doodles & Karen, @Gill & George, @Bobbie And Bubba

I added more gravy than actual food to his LC snacks.

Note - I have dr appointment tonight so I am not going to be home to tfs for PM - Hubby is in charge . Pray he doesn't kill the cat. He thinks that BG 44 @ +2 is "just fine, he will be ok, you worry too much" I told him that it is a good thing that he isn't in charge that he would kill him for sure. I should be home by 7:00p.

To emphasize DH lack of concern - I had to go to bed last night (I still wasn't feeling well and, well, 3:30am comes very early - he sleeps till 5am) - I told him he needed to test @ 10pm - check the meter this morning and he didn't test until 12:15a (he fell asleep on the couch).:banghead:.

I'm sorry you don't have more support from DH It's a hard dance to do by yourself .

Typical of my life with him. But that is a WHOLE other story. I try and not rely on him for anything important in life. Lesson learned.

I wish my couch was a bit more comfy to sleep on but it isn't (and my bed is sooo comfortable - it calls to me - lol).

I can totally sympathize Lizzie! My Hubby says similar things too...Like I "worry to much", "we are testing too much", "other people have cats with FD and don't test at all and they are fine". He will help with some of the testing, feeding, and every once in awhile the insulin shots- but I'm terrified to give him the needle. He has said before "his numbers are high, a little bit more won't hurt"! WHAT!? I also am the one doing ALL the research and when I try to explain stuff to him, he seems a little dis-interested. He does love our sweet kitties, too. I really just think he thinks Mommy has it all figured out....

Lizzie - reading your condo today is exactly what I fear! And I live an hour away from my work so won't be able to go home to check. Hubby might be able to sometimes but that's not always a guarantee...

How many times did our cats have similar numbers like that or even lower and we didn't even know about it and they were totally fine. I'm sure your kitty is going to be just fine today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Bless both of you :bighug:....praying for safe kitties and peace filled mommas:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Off to bed! Got to get it while I can. :bighug:

Are the higher numbers a bounce or from the HC food from earlier?

His poor ears got a good dousing of neosporin with pain relief - he loves that stuff. I want green but I don't want the heart attack tomorrow - so what do I wish for? :D
