Dont feel bad! I've totally done that too especially when preshot is so much higher! And my LM will lay with me too.Blaze just ate a lot of food at +4 thankfully. After the insulin routine this morning, I went to bed again and slept in (like I did yesterday morning). His +4 is basically a dive from his red numbers of his AMPS. I feel bad now that I didn't get a +2 or +3 to get some sort of warning, but I truly needed these 2 weekend mornings to catch on some sleep and when I saw the higher readings at AMPS, I figured it was a good chance for me to do so. After the shot this morning Blaze came right back to bed with me and stayed there until we both got up together and first thing he did, he went to the bowl and ate a good amount of food. Monitoring the rest of the cycle now.
Agreed that's an early start for you definitely need the extra rest! It's tough because his AM routine starts at 5AM every morning (because of my work schedule). Been getting up at that time non stop since Blz came out of remission in August.
Then lately he has had some good responses to the dose changes and at night I had to stay up a little longer. Plus work resumed in September lol someone needs to create a medicine that voids the need of sleep in humans
ThankyouOh no, that must be really challenging. I am sorry you have to deal with that.

I am a teacher tooI taught pre k 4 yr old and also special ed in elementary

I thought you were! University though correct? Way above my pay grade LOL.I am a teacher too![]()
Yes. The more he stays between 68-120 on the AT the more healing that takes place.Just a question regarding his pancreas and organs. Considering the lower number ranges he has been on when we started to be a little more aggressive...do his organs and most importantly pancreas benefit from this. What I mean is, is his pancreas healing a tiny bit thanks to this?
my goal is for him to be regulated and feel good. I don't even think about the "R" word at all. I just want him to not have pain or discomfort as much as possible.Good. That’s always the first goal and most realistic one.Okmy goal is for him to be regulated and feel good. I don't even think about the "R" word at all. I am glad the Cerenia is helping! It’s awful when they don’t eat.Good morning!
Yes, last night it was a good cycle, he has bounced this morning again.
He has been feeling much better after starting cerenia.
He takes it because for quite some time, on and off, Blaze has experienced nausea which made it difficult for him to eat properly. The nausea also caused vomiting at times. Since starting a little cerenia once a day, he has completely stopped and he is eating amazing. He has not been diagnosed with CKD or pancreatitis yet (since the diabetes diagnosis). However, I think that he may have (or have had) a mild form of pancreatitis. Vet doesn't think so. For now, the cerenia is working, I am going to continue it for a little longer and then, I might give him a short break and see how he does without it. Vet is on board with the Cerenia at the moment which is a win for me because it's a little hit and miss with him.
It’s fine to give them Cerenia long term (from a physical standpoint.) There’s no need to take a break from it, but of course you want to make sure he really needs it. So, as Elise suggested, you can do a little trial and error to see if you can stretch it out longer between pills - or to see if he still needs it at all. (Well, we can hope!). Cats with chronic kidney disease and pancreatitis frequently are on a daily dose of Cerenia with no breaks so I wouldn’t worry or anything. Just play around with it to see what works for him.that. Please let me know when or if I should give him a break from it for a few days
