@Ti-Mousse, I understand her and I know she is so tired of vets. But the hissing....never did that before, did not have any idea she can use such a foul language:p;)

This morning 331, so no idea why the vets are so uncomfortable with Levemir in cats. I must say it did not do much for Chanel in terms of changing the values down to hypoglycemia like they said. Besides, I left some HC kibbles outside for her to nibble (just 11 pieces) until I go home for lunch and feed her.
I will update the SS later today or tonight, depending on my meeting schedule.

I hope Chanel slides down for you today.
I sure hope so Carla, but I think she will need a dose increase and obviously she needs to forget about the yesterday visit to the vet. :)
Oh my, Furball is a lemony kitty today! Slide baby slide, go for some BLUES!
Have a wonderful day Carla!

+5 = 300 and she did not eat the HC kibbles. Talking about being stubborn. Oh well, I do not think it is all that actually. She still has diarrhea and it was a good thing I went home at lunch. She needed me to clean her little butt and her literbox. She also ate but not much of a wet food. Still no word from the vet.

At least she told the vets what she thought of them. Most vets are not familiar with lev so they are afraid to try it. It use to be the same way when lantus came on the market. Vets are comfortable with the old ways because it's familiar to them.

But when you have enough data to show them, maybe they will rethink. Did they give you a script?

Is she reacting better to the shot itself?

No, they did not give me any script because I guess I pushed their buttons by saying that no experience does not equal let's not try and that I want Chanel to have a better life and maybe make her way into remission. The fact that the IM MD was so direct in telling us that she thinks we are too aggressive with the BG testing was one of the things that pushed my buttons. And I do not react well to that, I hiss too :) So, I told her that since these are depot forms, they need to achieve and maintain a certain blood concentration so you can have a sustained response. When I started with the pharmacological profile, I lost her completely, so I remembered to shut up.
I will get the Levemir from here (supply closet).

Chanel hissed at us and not at the vets. She is sneaky that way. She is her sweetest version with strangers, with us she is spoiled. But the hissing is new. It might be that she did not like going to the vet so soon.

She seems to do better at the shot times, no jumping or scratching or biting. No skin twitching too much either.
The diarrhea continues and she avoids the dry food. The pumpkin does not help with it (it works great for her constipation issues). At this point the BG may be this high because of her tummy issues combined with the low dose of Levemir. Soon, we will need to increase. Looking back, at least for me, seems like Lantus at 1.5U was clearing the way for the BLUES but we have to go through 1.25U dosage first.
Going home at lunch is crazy, but she needs her lunch and if I can give her some wet food at that time, that is great. I hope to find a job closer to home so I can make it home at lunch time and spend more than 15 minutes with her.

Just got the metabolic panel and OMG, her triglycerides are 6 TIMES HIGHER than MAX VALUE!!! I think we need to implement some fiber and omega in her diet. Please let me know if you have suggestions based on your previous experience. I am attaching the entire document.
