Hello,
Yesterday tıfıl's ketones results was "traces" today she is at the vet again taking iv fluids, antibiotics and now I learned that she is having medication for her liver.
The vet said that her liver tests are high...
I took the results to write here, has anyone have an idea?

I think there are no liver results in this one. But were did he find out that there is a problem in the liver, I didn't understand anything :(

i don't know much about those either, but hopefully someone will be along soon that can interpret them.

how is tifil feeling today, other than her numbers? is she still hiding and not eating on her own?

hi,
She is at the clinic now, I will take her after one hour. She is feeling much better, in the morning I found her in the closet bt yesterday night she slept at our bedroom. She is not hidding as much as she was yesterday.
She is still not eating on her own but today when she comes home I will give her royal canin diabetic dry food, she loves it. I know I musn't but I want to do this to stimlate her appetite.

At the clinic today she cleaned herself in her cage after I feeded her :) I think she is getting better and better everyday.

Tomorrow (sunday) our vet won't be at the clinic but he wants me to bring tıfıl again to have iv fluids, I hope that won't be too much for her because I think There are no ketones anymore. Has anybody have an idea that after the ketones get cleared do we still give iv fluids? I think my vet thinks that tıfıl needs iv fluids (lactated ringer) for potassium but I am afraid that the iv fluids are going to be too much and afraid that it will spoil the blood structure...

HELLO,
Back from vet, tıfıl is much better.
I gave her rolay canin dry diabetic food (because she loves it) to see if she is going to eat. And she did :)
So she is eating on her own now but only dry food. I tried ff she didn't even look at it :(

I have a question abot the dose, tıfıl is again very low now, what am I going to do...the shooting time is after half an hour but I can slide...

i think i would stall a bit and see if it comes up high enough you can shoot it. pretty important not to skip a shot when she's been sick, and i'd think with the dry food, now her numbers are likely to go higher and stay that way for a while.

I'm so glad her BG numbers are getting better. And, she is eating YAY!!!

Did the vet test for ketones, today? I think and hope they might be lessoning.

Post your next test bg, please. And hugs, you're doing a great job with your little girl.

I will test now, half an hour has passed...
The vet didn't test for ketones, he said you can test at home. He is not that kind who uses every opportunity to rub the pockets of his patients :):):):)

I will test today when I catch her at her litter box...:)

+12.5 = 79

I took her to the litterbox and the result is, no ketons :) but I am not sure, the color is more like "negatif" but alittle like "traces"....

I would stall another 30 minutes, without feeding anymore, okay? When was the last time she ate?
I'm going to see if I can get some eyes on your dose question, for tonight.
I don't think you want to skip a dose. She seems to be surfing along real nice, right now.
If you stall more, will you be okay shooting 12 hours after you shoot, tomorrow morning?

Please post your next bg test.

Yes It's ok, I can shoot 12 hours after our new shooting time...
She at at +11 and she didn't eat anything after that...
ıt was 2 hours ago...
Now it's time to test but I want to wait another half an hour,
I am sure she is still low...

She's not going up or down, but is kind of surfing along.
I really don't think you should skip, because of the ketones.
Normally, they don't advise to both stall and shoot a lower dose (BCS), but I think maybe you should shoot something, this time. Do you want to stall another 30 minutes? How would you feel about shooting something, even if it's a reduced dose, if she stays the same or goes higher? Would you be able to get some tests in tonight, if you did?
I'm still trying to get some other eyes on this.

Have you tested again? You really don't want to shoot past +14. I really don't think you should skip the shot entirely because of the ketones. I am thinking 2 units, as a reduced dose, for tonight. What do you think? Would you be comfortable with that? If not, how about 1.5 units?

I know it's scary, since you haven't seen these nice green healing numbers in a while, but you don't want those ketones to come back. I think the reason the ketones have come down is because of the fluids and because of the better BGs.
You've shot these numbers before. And if you have to, you can always syringe feed her some higher carb food or some syrup, right? I think it's safe to give her some insulin, even if it's a reduced dose, for tonight.

I think you should shoot, even though, we normally do not shoot past +14. I think she needs to have some insulin to keep the ketones away.

I agree with Dyana. Shoot the full dose unless you want to be dealing with ketones again. Manage the numbers with high carb food. It's better to give enough insulin to keep the ketone levels down and use food to keep the BG numbers up.

I think she'll be fine. She is rising, and the insulin won't start to have onset for another couple hours. And, her shed has been depleted because of the stall.
Now, are you able to shoot again tomorrow morning, 12 hours from now. She may be high, and if she is, you may be able to shoot a little bit earlier to start getting back on schedule. If you want, I will log on tomorrow morning, in 11 hours, and look for your post, to help you decide. It's a little earlier than I normally wake up, but that's okay.

I shot 1.5...
I hope she won't go high and I hope she won't so low...

Good job Isil....it's tough with the delay in posts but you got some insulin in her and that is really important. So glad to hear she is eating!!!

Sending more healing vines and prayers for her.
