While you wait, you can put the vet's number on speed dial and also look up the nearest vet ER in case that's where they tell you to go.

This is all "just in case."

My internet is very slow at the moment. A Zoom meeting on the other computer is eating up all the speed. It should be over soon.

never done syrup before .. not sure how long it lasts and how we maintain after syrup

We maintain the number by feeding HC and/or syrup until the cat is above 50. And test every 20 minutes.

Once the cat is above 50, you can switch to LC. Then you test every 30 minutes for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to make sure the cat stays up.

And congratulations on the deduction. The new dose is 3.5 units.

This morning we talked about increase and now we decrease … lol.

he’s been acting very normal .. alert, cleaning himself, not drunk …
 
Since it's so late in the cycle, I'd hold off feeding more, unless you need to. How much later can you shoot tonight and be OK with the delay in schedule? This is one of those cases where the HC would be influencing his normal PMPS. HC takes around a couple hours to wear off.

I work from home. We can delay. Ill get yelled at in the morning but we gotta do what we gotta do! I’ll test in 10mins and see what’s up
 
One of the local vets had to close their doors one day last week. They were full up and had no more room for patients. Two other practices stepped in to help.

I have to sign off. If you need to, change the title of the thread to "Need help. Dose for tonight" – or some such.

We have 3 emergency vets in Ottawa. There was PSA put out that all but one was closed due to Covid cases and/or the others had restrictions/limited space … they were even saying that you might need to go to Montreal for help.. ack! That 2 hours away!

I didn’t realize you were so close! Do I call you Red? :)

He’s at 61 now. Just 1.5 hours after HC and Syrup.

I don’t feel comfortable shooting right now since he’s down from last test - should I wait a half hour and test… to be sure he’s coming up on his own and not influenced?

I’ve shot low before but this is different I think.

He’s a very hangry kitty right now.. so holding off on food will be a difficult task but doable, lol
