Previous thread about Cole

Many of you know that just as Cole was starting his OTJ trial less than a week ago, an aggressive growth was found in his mouth. Elizabeth took him to the emergency clinic this morning where he was seen by an oncologist. Due to the aggressive nature of the tumour and poor prognosis of possible treatments, he is being put on palliative care. She is now focusing her energy on keeping Cole comfortable and loving him up as much as possible, and will not be posting.

Elizabeth is so grateful for the support from this community during Cole's journey with FD. It was important to her that you know what is going on, so I will keep you posted. Right now, she could really use your prayers, thoughts and support.
 
Prayers and vines from me. This is so bittersweet. I wish I could wave a magic wand and get rid of this cancer. :bighug:

I'm so sorry. My civvie Simba had cancer in her mouth. She had good days and bad days. Just focus on the moment at hand and make the most of it and try not to think about the future. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh no :( My thoughts are with you Elizabeth and Cole. I hope you get to have him with you for as long as possible while he is still happy. I'm so sorry for such bad news :bighug:

I am so sorry to hear about Cole. I know he is so loved and cared for. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elizabeth, her husband and Cole.
 
Elizabeth, this is so sad! Your sweet little Cole has done beautifully with his FD and now he has to fight something else.

I was recently told that Gremlin may have cancer in his mouth, we are playing the waiting game.
 
I have very sad news to share. Elizabeth (@Colio ) let me know that Cole has passed.

He was deteriorating faster than expected and was sending signals that the time had come. She was able to help him have a gentle and compassionate transition at home where he was surrounded by love and peace.

Cole's family, (((Elizabeth, DH Mark, civvies Dax and Teddy))) would greatly appreciate words of comfort and condolence during this very difficult time. Elizabeth and Mark had Cole since he was a kitten and he was so, so loved and always will be.

I'm so sorry we met under these circumstances and yet so grateful all at the same time. You are the sweetest mama bean and were so caring for Cole. I'm sure he took a lot of comfort in being surrounded by his family as he crossed over :rb_icon:

Elizabeth, you gave Cole that one final gift we never want to give. It’s an act of true love. You will be in my prayers as well as all of LLB as you mourn the loss. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again -
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.
