After some lovely blues towards the end of yesterday's AM cycle, Ivana is back into the pinks for AMPS this morning. It really does seem like she's moved her nadir to be right at the end of the cycle in the last month or so, not sure if that's significant or not.

As Sienne always says, the nadir is like a moving target! That's one of the reason spot checks are so important. Hopefully those nice blues are back on the horizon for Ivana!

Hey Ivana, leave the pink floor - no parties there today. Try the blue floor - that's where the action is.

Some kitties just have late nadirs. Bubba is another example of a Lantus kitty with a late nadir. Neko's is later too, and when I moved her to Levemir, everything moved a couple hours later.

How would this affect a kitty who's nadir is already at the end of the cycle?

Depends on the cat. Neko on Lantus was most commonly nadirsing from 7 to 9 hour after preshot, but occasionally did a +13 nadir. Now I have seen it as late as +15.

So if nadir is at +15, do you still shoot at +12? Would the overlap cause an issue? I am learning so much!

Yes, I still shoot every 12 hours. Most of the time her nadir is earlier, but if she's low and still dropping at preshot time, I test a little sooner into the next cycle. Her onset isn't until +5 so don't get the overlap. With late nadir cats, their cycle will often look like a reverse curve going up with the low points at preshot.

Ivana is coming to the end of her 6th cycle on this dose. The lowest she's managed is 119. Increase to 1.75u?

Good luck with the increase. I'll usually wait 8 cycles if I get a low blue, but Ivana will tell you soon enough whether that's what works for her.

Yes she will tell me, and probably spectacularly, if history repeats All good, there will be someone home almost 24 hrs a day for the next few days, so she'll be fine

Wow, +3 to +5 was hardly any movement at all, I'm a bit surprised. Much better than diving! I will set the alarm to check through the night, probably at +8 I think and then see how she goes from there.

And now that you have noted that, she will certainly have to change it to keep you on your toes Skooter lucky for me is an early nadir-er, usually by +3 or +4....Ivana, work your dosecrease for your mommabean....
