Millie did not finish her breakfast during the day and barely touched her snack. I came home to a BG of 69 t +11. Ondansetron at +11.

100@+12. Not comfortable shooting at that number, especially considering she had been at 69 only an hour earlier. Just a fluke that I caught that. Delaying.

It seems like she may be dehydrated. Looks like a trip to the vet tomorrow. Look at possibility of pancreatitis.

Have you looked into an autofeeder? Is this abnormal for her? Sam doesn't always want to eat when I want him to, as long as he eats within 2 hours of his dose it's fine. I leave an autofeeder out when I go to work and when I go to sleep now.

Any other behavioral changes?

She has an auto feeder and, until 2 days ago, I used it. She got 3 small snacks through the day and it moved to an empty spot 2 hours before her shots. For the longest time, it took her 2 hours to clean up her main meal, then the snacks were timed to open up. She got 2 wet snacks and 1 Young Again kibble. Then, about 3 days ago she hadn't touched her snacks and her main meal wasn't completely finished. So yesterday and today, I just left out a plate of 2 Tbsp YA kibble, so she wouldn't miss the feeder changing. She is definitely off but not really anything definitive but the appetite. I haven't weighed her since her vet visit on Tuesday. I will weigh her tonight. This is not normal for her but has been happening for the past few weeks more steadily. I used to be able to count on her to finish everything. I always wonder if she was eating more because her numbers were high and she was peeing it out and now she is eating more in line with what she should. Before, when she was cleaning her plates, I could calculate calories appropriate for her weight. With this half eating thing, it's tough to calculate what she is consuming.

It seems like she may be a little dehydrated. Probably a trip to the vet tomorrow, press to test for pancreatitis.

Hi Heidi, did you get any tests after the +12? Did you give any insulin?

Did the vet run labs the last time you were there? It does sound like pancreatitis but you might also want to check her kidney values. And her teeth - in case some discomfort there is causing the reduced desire to eat. She will eat less in better numbers though.

Yes, she came up to 122 at +13. The Libre showed her on an upward trajectory so at 13.25, I fixed her food and, when she had eaten about half, I went ahead and gave her 3.5U. When I took her in on Tuesday, it was just to show me how to apply the Libre myself. I took her in on 13DEC for her appetite and I thought she was a little dehydrated, plus that was when my ketone meter showed .5 ketones, the upper end of normal but more than before. They did Chem 10/CBC/electrolytes and said all was okay, although I didn't get a copy of the tests.
She now won't eat food with very much added water. As a result she has been drinking more, about 2.5 to 3.5 ounces/day. Her urine output has decreased to what I would consider more normal. However, tonight , her skin seems tight and she's cranky if I pull it to see if it springs back. I thought about her teeth, too, but she does crunch the Young Again kibble.
I have learned with the Libre to not pay so much attention to the numbers and look at the trends. Most days she's up and down. Today she steadily decreased all day. I was thinking that not eating during the day contributed.

I just ordered a reconditioned version of my 5 year old phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 10+) so I could leave it at home, connected to wifi, and I could use the app wherever I am, to connect to my phone and be able to monitor her numbers in real time. No alarms, nothing fancy, just see what they are for the last 12 hours. I think it probably only feeds my OCD, as I'm not sure how long it would take me to get out of work and get home, if she crashed. I'm not sure how long I would have to get home. Anyhoo...

Do you think you can ask the vet for a copy of the tests? Did they think she was dehydrated? If her gums are tacky, then she is and could use fluids. I presume they didn't run the spec fPl for pancreatitis?

Her gums feel moist to me but I'm not used to feeling them when they are normal. They didn't think she was dehydrated and I specifically gave that as one of the reasons I needed to come in. I can ask for the tests. I did ask about the pancreatitis test and they responded with an answer that indicated "not at this point." The new fresh-out-of-school vet is being groomed to take over for the vet who started the clinic, whom I have been using since 1988. She basically "adopted" me and, except for saying that it was important to use the AlphaTrak in the beginning, she has been pretty game with everything else. There was no push back when I told them I had switched to a human meter because of the cost of the AT strips and lack of availability sometimes. She is the one who suggested the Libre(which is human numbers...kind of, because they are so out of whack with BG numbers) and she is working on getting all of the feline diabetes patients to do it. She said, with cats, sometimes it's a hard sell as opposed to dogs. Those owners are at one end of the spectrum and then I'm at the other end of the spectrum.(yes, she said that, but not in a bad way) She did take a look at Millie's SS, and Libre graphs, was alarmed at the 79 and asked if I had a problem rolling back to 3.5. Her numbers were running so wonky high last week that I dropped to 3.75 for a few days but, when she really dropped back in food amounts, I dropped to 3.5 this morning.(where she would be if I had reduced after the 72, like you said the 72 warranted).

The 72 on 12/23 was on the meter and not the Libre, right? What about today's numbers? If I remember correctly, the numbers on her SS are the Lite and the ones in the comments are the Libre?

Yes, the 72 was on the meter. I only put meter numbers in the body of the spreadsheet and Libre in the comments. Obviously, I am still testing a lot, as I don't trust the Libre yet.

The 69 that I got at AM+11 tonight was on the meter, 90 on the Libre. The lower the numbers get, the closer the meter and Libre numbers get. I kept reading that the Libre reads low at the lower end. I haven't hit that low yet as the Libre is always higher.
