Back to bouncing 😅

To be fair, we had three amazing flat green and blue days, so we’re very grateful. We think that she’s bouncing from dipping into lime yesterday afternoon.

She had a really weird pattern yesterday, though, and I’d love to hear any guesses about what might have actually happened because it really scared us.

She had a big drop from AMPS 141 to 92 by +2, so we gave her 1 tbsp MC to slow her down along with her regularly scheduled LC. By +5, she had flattened out at 88. We figured, great - the food shouldn’t be influencing her numbers much anymore, she’s flat, and we’re probably good until PMPS.

Then at +11.5 she threw us a 45 😱

What worried us was wondering how much lower she might have gone sometime between +5 and +11.5, especially since she came back up to 62 in only 20 minutes after we caught it. Ugh.

She usually nadirs fairly early, around +4 to +6, unless she’s breaking a bounce - and I don’t think that she was doing that yesterday. We’re obviously going to be extra vigilant going forward, but it does make me a little nervous that her patterns might be changing and that it may become harder to predict when I need to strategically test.

So today we are back to the bounce. I guess her little liver got a little surprised and worried, just like her mom and dad! Hopefully she’ll break the bounce for us gently soon so we can all pawty together on the beach ⛱️🏄‍♀️🏝️

Happy Caturday everyone! 💕🐈‍⬛

What made you think to test her at 11.5 yesterday? Good catch anyway.
I would have tested again after that dropping PM +2 three days ago. That's all I see.
Thanks Dyana. We got home from an errand a little after +11 and she seemed unusually hungry, so we decided to test early.

I know I haven’t been testing as much as is optimal, mostly because I wanted to spare Moonie’s ears while they were recovering from the sitters’ pokes and because she can get uncooperative with testing if we do too many. But we may need to go back to a higher testing frequency for a bit to grab early / mid / late for most cycles or reduce.

I'm surprised it has taken so long for her ears to heal. Poor baby.
I remember once being at the vet, and he poked J.D. with a syringe right in the center of his ear:oops: to get a test!

I'm glad you decided to test at +11.5. Good call. Follow your instincts.

I also remember I would sometimes see J.D. drinking water and would test him and he would be low. I think his body told him he had to eat and there was no food around so he thought he had to fill up his belly somehow.. with water.

Omg a syringe in the middle of the ear 😱

Her ears are much much better now but we still have bald spots from the fur having to grow back in. We can probably test more now and then take her lead if she’s getting resistant. She is already showing us a bit reluctance now since she won’t come to the testing room on her own (she needs to be carried in).

Awww that story of JD is so sweet. I guess he figured water was better than nothing. Moonie starts gnawing on grass when she’s dropping fast or low. I think for the same reason as JD drinking water.

Oh Connie, I would have been absolutely terrified seeing that 45! I'm so glad you caught it when you did! These little troublemakers really know how to keep us on our toes.
Fingers crossed she clears this bounce gently and makes her way back to the beach soon! 🏖️💕

But for such a little troublemaker, she sure is gorgeous 🥰
Aww thanks Britta! Fortunately it wasn’t our first lime and we had all the supplies ready. That doesn’t mean we weren’t shocked and a bit worried though, and we’ll have to increase our testing frequency going forward.

It’s a good thing they’re so adorable because they sure are naughty!

As I keep saying, that Moonie is one smart girl! It’s truly amazing how she tells you to test her when she’s low! 💕🐈‍⬛
I’m glad you watch her closely and she’s really such a good girl.
Come down gently from the bounce pretty girl 🌊🥰💕🏄‍♀️
