Mia wasnβt acting well the past couple of days, and she peed blood during the night. She spent the day at the vetβs office. Blood and urine tests back tomorrow. Vet noticed she may have gone blind in one eye and, Mia being diabetic, tested her blood pressure. I was happily surprised at the thoroughness of this new young Dr. BP was high normal at 160. They tested her BG with an AlphaTrak at approx. 1 pm = 114. She came home at 6:30 pm and had a teaspoon of LC food and buprenorphine. Vet informs me the burenorphine shouldnβt affect BG levels. I am letting her destress a bit before capturing another BG reading. Note on the subject line was to let anyone who checked her know why there would be no entries for the day. Thanks for checking. PS I had to βfess up to the Dr. why I hadnβt contacted the vetβs office since the first week after diagnosis, and that I had overridden vet instructions on dosing!Tell us more beyond that subject line. What happened?
Check above, Mary .. just posted update. Thanks for checking! Please give us an update when you can.
Will do. Thanks for checking on her.Poor Mia. Iβm glad both bp and bg are normal. Please update us on the tests the vet ran when you can.
Thanks, Staci.I hope Mia is ok! Sending you vines for healing![]()
Thank you, Seth.Sending vines for Mia!![]()
Poor Neko .. sounds like a stressor for sure! βGong showβThat's not a bad BP for at the vet. First time Neko went to the vet with a gong show at the waiting area, she tested over 210!! Later at the dentist with Feliways going and no other animals around, she tested in the 140's. Neko was on buprenorphine full time due to her severe arthritis. Getting the bupe improved her BG as pain can cause higher BG's.
Sounds like poor Mia might have a UTI. Hoping you get answers in the morning. Glad she's home now.
If you only knew how much English Iβve been learning on this forum (everyday expressions, words, and so on that I would never find in English books), you would be impressed!with a gong show
