I couldn’t let today go by without acknowledging it is Ivy’s Gotcha Day in 2011.
My almost 3 month old new little kitten was a fireball even back then.
When we brought her home, she ran around the house like a little maniac, jumping up on plants and hanging from them, throwing herself on a window shade and hanging on for dear life.
I had to blockade the stairs with cardboard since I could see she was a daredevil and I imagined she might decide to take a leap from the second floor down to the first floor. (She liked to walk through the spindles of the stairs, teetering at the edge).
As you may guess, DH wasn’t impressed with her skills for shredding fabric in our home as he was not yet converted to being a cat dad, just yet.
I, on the other hand thought it was hilarious every time she clung to a new fabric and managed to hang on.
I was most impressed with all of her acrobatic skills
I guess in honor of her special day, she’s given me a lovely curve today and spent the afternoon in the sun on a chair in my bedroom

Here is the very first picture I saw of her and instantly knew I had to have her. She won my heart immediately

I am forever grateful for the kind woman who saw her walking alone along a city street and pulled over her car to help this darling kitten. She called her husband to bring some cat food and a crate and they scooped up my girl and saved her.
We got her a few weeks later and she’s been with us ever since. She looked just like this when she arrived
Have a relaxing holiday today in the US and safe surfing for all our kitties
