Sending tons of prayers and vines to you and Asik

He was diagnosed with stage 2 hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and suspected pulmonary embolism.Pimobendan (Vetmedin) literally saved my catβs life. It was like night and day β¦ and no more pleural effusions for years (until the end.) It was one of the medications which gave us two more good years with Ginger.
Alisia, I am praying he will pull through. Sending many prayers for your sweet boy, who clearly loves you so muchHe was diagnosed with stage 2 hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and suspected pulmonary embolism.
With hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart medications such as beta-blockers or ACE inhibitors should be prescribed with caution, as blood pressure may drop and there will be insufficient blood supply to the coronary arteries of the heart. That's what the cardiologist told me today.
Today, 2 medications were prescribed to prevent thromboembolism.
Last night, an X-ray was taken, the swelling worsened. In the morning after the manipulations, the oxygen level was 47, he felt very bad and I was told that I should come and say goodbye. I was devastated, simply destroyed by this news. Previously, they wouldn't let me into his intensive care unit because of their rules, visits are only allowed in a special room, but there are no oxygen boxes there. Today, I went to see him and he was barely alive. But after a few minutes he started to reach for me, I opened the box a little and stroked him, he was very happy. I spent 4 hours with him, he ate, licked himself from head to toe to look good in front of his beloved woman
The nurse recorded a video of his reaction to me for the doctor and I was allowed to visit him in the intensive care unit 4 hours a day to improve his mood.
Today we managed to avoid euthanasia and for now that is enough for me. I hope his night goes well and tomorrow we will meet my sweet boy again.
Postscript:
He is also receiving diuretics, oxygen and sedatives to treat pulmonary edema. At the moment, in his condition, this is all that can be done.
Yes, I will definitely ask about Pimobendan. Thank you for that. Please ask about the Pimobendan/Vetmedin.
I just called the cardiologist, he said that Pimobendan Asik is categorically not allowed. It is used for stages 3-4 of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. At stage 2, he still has a certain resource of the heart ventricle, and this drug will increase contractility and only make it worse. This is what I was able to understand from his words. He sounded quite convincing, actually. Please ask about the Pimobendan/Vetmedin.
I strongly insisted on cardiac medications, but two doctors insisted that in this situation, with his indicators and test results, it would kill him. And I cannot take him to another clinic, since he is not viable outside the oxygen box.Honestly, within a few days my cat was doing soooo much better. Our cardiologist also stopped the ACE inhibitor and calcium channel blocker for my cat Ginger. But she definitely recommended continuing the Pimobendan for Gingerβs hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
We had to let him goHow is Asik doing?
Thank you. This support is very important to me right nowOh no! I know you are devastated. I donβt have the proper words to express how sad and sorry that I am to hear this dreadful news. It feels so wrong that you had to say goodbye to such a young cat. I know that you did your very best for him. I know that you loved him and he loved you. My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry.
