lily has been on 0.75 units the past 4 days and has been responding just fine until last night and today. Is it too late to give another 0.25units of Lantus ? Or should I wait until tomorrow morning to increase to a full unit. I really don’t want her spending another night being high again. I don’t know what’s going on with her right now but I’m super stressed.

Hello! Are you able to get a spreadsheet set up? People won't want to give you any dosing information until there's some data about how Lily is doing.
The info is in this topic. Sticky - New? How You Can Help Us Help You!
And if you need any help with setting up a spreadsheet, or anything else, just post here asking for help with it.

If you can edit your post to add the blue ? prefix, that will make your post more visible.

Best wishes to you and Lily!

And I see she's eating Diet: Royal Canin RENAL + HYDROLYZED PROTEIN DRY. Those vet foods are pretty much always expensive, of low quality, and high in carbs, which is the last thing a diabetic cat needs. If Lily has some diet needs, let us know, because people can give you good advice!

Hi. Sorry I don’t remember what I’m supposed to do when a post/question has been answered. Do I just write answered in the title?

Thanks for your reply. I’m a vet tech so I get about a 65% discount on royal Canin rx food. Also , it’s not poor quality. It is actually completely well balanced and formulated. I have done a lot of CE on Royal CANIN diets and I also work with a board certified Nutritionist that vouches for these diets and I can always consult with her if I need advice on future changes.
Lily has been on this food for quite awhile and has been doing pretty well on it so I don’t want to rock any boats right now.
Her food is not as much of an issue right now as she just had pancreatitis and is on steroids which complicates things more. Prior to her pancreatitis she was making some of her own insulin and her BGs would actually drop after eating , not spike. She’s still not really spiking too much after eating. Her steroids nights cause her big spike. I know dry food/carbs don’t help diabetes. However, it’s not the biggest issue for her right now.

I do have a spreadsheet, I will link it today.
Thank you!
