I chose to reduce by the 1/4U, as I personally feel moving in smaller increments is safer.

taking the full 0.5u reduction actually would have been safer :)

The higher the dose, the bigger the depot, which might end up putting you in a spot where the BGs run away from you and you are fighting to keep them up. Personalizing reduction points does come with some risks, just something to keep in mind.

I appreciate your input, and fully understand the risks. For this specific reason I pulled back to 5.25 ( which was the prior dose ), and if I have to pull back further, to 5 before the week is through I will do so.

The previous cycle where he hit 67 made me nervous, and like I said, I rode it out because I am to the contention several factors, diet, the increase and DST were all at play. I also noted in that thread that if I ever felt like I may be losing control, I would reduce, so I took my own advice last night.

Hey @Bandit's Mom @tiffmaxee

Do you think we're clearing the bounce from yesterday? Why is this nadir so late?? Lol

I did feed LC @+6 when we hit 95, and now I don't want to get crazy feeding anything else, bc this is usually when we see a rise....

Thanks!!
Deb

Yea, late nadir thanks to bounce clearing. On 3/7 his nadir was at +9.

It's still the higher depot affecting his numbers. Try and keep him over your reduction point. With SLGS every drop below the reduction point is a reduction. It's only in TR that one does not take back-to-back reductions!

Yes! I remembered that, I don't want to drop again until I see him work the dose fully.

I'll check him again in a few minutes.

Thanks Bhooma!

Caught him at 75, so I gave 1 level tsp of HC, that should get him up enough. Will check at +8...

Although numbers are safe, looks like you may have an overfull depot. The trouble with feeding HC is that numbers can bobble around a little, and with HC now at +11, you’ll want to be sure that you don’t shoot an artificially inflated number. See where you are at with preshot, then you may need to stall and not feed until you get a number that you feel is shootable and not artificially inflated. It’s not generally recommended to shoot a preshot less than 90 with SLGS.

Yeah, I'm stalling at least 1 hour bc I did give him 1 tsp HC wet at +11, and he only boosted to 87 PMPS (+12).

Thank you,

Next time this happens feed a couple teaspoons of higher lc at +10 and if you feed at +11 make ur a teaspoon of lc. I agree the depot is likely quite full and I would wait and possibly drain the depot with a BCS if high enough to shoot.

He gets 1/3 a can of LC FF at about +9.5/10 it's about 1.5 tbspns. He doesn't always eat it all, same in the morning feeding. Then I give him other LC snacks intermittently, and he gets additional FF LC at PMPS. He is a HARDCORE dry addict! But! Since reducing the amount he gets, he has no choice but to eat the wet.

I'm thinking of shooting IF he goes above 100, he gave me that first 93 today way past normal nadir, and then dipped again, twice. I don't know what dose to give though if the depot is still draining! I mean wow, it's impressive.

If you shoot you can give more dry food to counteract the depot if necessary provided he will eat and you can monitor.

Max almost always got very hungry when low.

How long can you stall, given your shot tomorrow is at least 11.5 hours after when/if you shoot tonight? Note, the longer you stall without food, there is a risk he may go down.

He's been eating all day Wendy! Lol

He hasn't had a wet meal since +9.5, but that's part of his regular feeding. He's been grazing dry since then, maybe a few teaspoons.

I can stall, but then I'd have to stay awake because he has early onset and nadir usually at +4, I honestly thought he'd come up by now.
