First full day on the juice today. Managed to get a successful test on my second try before shooting!

I don’t have Pumpkin’s feeding schedule changed yet, will do that now that I know I need a 2 hour fast before testing.

I swear Punokin already has more of a spring in her step just after her first shot yesterday evening. Of course, that could also be because she’s been getting lots and lots of treats during all the poking and prodding.

Managed a sneak attack test at +4. Was not expecting the BG to be 175 higher than pre-shot! Starting to understand the importance of all the testing and figuring out how she reacts to the dose over time.

Newly diagnosed cats can be pretty bouncy initially. Their bodyhas gotten comfortable in higher number so even a drop to the 200s can trigger a bounce.

And “initially” can mean some months, too! Some cats settle out real quick. Others, like my Jackson… still bouncy, four months after starting insulin. So don’t give up if it takes a little while. Hope it doesn’t for Pumpkin, though! :cat:
