Well...still having soft poops ๐Ÿ’ฉ :arghh:
Left a message for the vet this morning. Don't think the RX Clay is doing anything.

She seems to be ok otherwise. Eating her regular food ok, sometimes needs encouragement but she's eating.

Her BG is lower lately and I've reduced her dose from 2 weeks ago when this pancreatitis flare began (Same thing happened 1.5 years ago w ith her last flare).

We have been only using the Contour Next meter with ear pokes and no Libre since she's been under 100 with ear pokes.
I am very sure her lower BG would just shut down the Libre.

She hates ear pokes and sometimes she really fights me and scratches and bites. My spicy girl.
It's why I have used a Libre for all these years.

I need to try to get her upstairs in some sunshine today and maybe even do a nail trim, she's due for one:oops:

I'm not sure what else to try for the yucky poops. I even stopped giving Colon Rescue last night just to see if that makes a difference.

I think Albert mentioned his vet said Ondansetron can cause loose stools. I am still giving that 3x daily and Cerenia daily just in case she's got any form of upset stomach. I am a bit worried to risk her not eating again.
I'm still giving Mirataz transdermal daily too to make sure she eats.

It's been a long 2 weeks and I would love to see her feel back to her normal sweet self again :cat:๐ŸŒถ๏ธ

Hope everyone has a safe surf and all kitties eat and poop well!๐ŸŒŠ:cat:๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ

Oops sorry, my vet was mentioning that the Ondansetron could be slowing his system in general and maybe causing a little bit of lower eating, opposite problem with the constipation. Unfortunately removing the ondansetron failed horribly, so now we're considering a higher dose than 2mg.

Could the loose stools be caused by food sensitivities? Or is she back to 100% her regular food?

Feel better soon Ivy! ๐Ÿค—

Oh Ivy, don't scratch and bite your mom! It's crazy how low she is besides all the reductions you made! I hope she will be in a safe "libre range" soon!

I looked it up for humans and ondansetron causes diarrhea in some patients. I hope her poop gets better more normal soon! ๐Ÿ€

Still sending healing vines ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ and some peace and love vibes, so sweet Ivy stops biting her mom! โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ’Œ

I'm so sorry you're dealing with so much trying to get your sweet & spicy girl back to feeling herself Staci. It's so hard when we don't know exactly what would be the best thing for them and feel like we are exhausting so many options. ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚

Sending you lots and lots of healing vines for Ivy to be back to her normal self (with regular ๐Ÿ’ฉ!) and that you can get her back on the Libre soon. โค๏ธ

She's eating her regular lamb 6% diet at this point.
I had to supplement when this all began with Hills AD and baby food just to get calories into her and try not to cause a food aversion to her regular food.

I am so sorry the removal of the ondansetron didn't work for Xander. I give Ivy a 4mg dose (she's 15 lbs.
2mg sounds low, since I know Xander isn't a tiny kitty.

I have stopped the Colon Rescue and may stop the RX Clay (one of my alternate vets has suggested stopping them). She also said to start a few of her supplements back in that we had stopped when this began 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for checking in and I hope all is going better for you and Xander today :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Thanks Heike, you know how spicy she is!
I will stop the ondansetron and see how she does!

We do appreciate all the healing vines as always.
Sending lots of love to you and Binie :bighug:๐Ÿ’š:bighug:

Thank you Elizabeth!!
It's certainly a challenge! I would love to kick this messy poop flare up to the curb already!

I hope you and Mister are doing well!! We missed you both! :bighug:๐Ÿฅฐ:bighug:

Keeping my fingers crossed that sweet and spicy Ivy channels that energy to kicking p-titis butt instead of scratching and biting her mom! I hope the vet can come back with some good answers for you and that Ivy feels better soon.

Thank you, Connie!!:cat:
We need all the vines and it's more than time to kick p-titis' butt! Go away nasty disease, nobody wants you here

Glad to read Moonie is feeling much better today!!! YAY! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Maybe you could also ask the vet what he thinks about the ondasetron. I hope he calls you soon. I also found an article about cats. Seems it influences the digestive system. Constipation is common but some get diarrhea. I hope the soft poop saga ends soon! โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

I will ask when they call. She had another soft poop this afternoon, sigh ๐Ÿ’ฉ

Sorry Ivy is still having soft poo and being so spicy. I can't remember if you've tried pumpkin for the soft poo. Sending prayers. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:
I havenโ€™t used pumpkin. Iโ€™ve read they donโ€™t recommend that anymore for loose poops.
I wish we would hit the right combination already ๐Ÿคฏ
Thanks, Carla๐Ÿ’ž

Flagyl? Did he/she explain why? Do they suspect she has an infection. I absolutely hate this aspect of pet parenting--not knowing what to do and not trusting those that should know what to do!! The fecal microbiota transplant (Animal Biome) is designed to treat IBD. So they might be thinking that the IBD she has is causing the diarrhea, and not the chronic pancreatitis. Just some thoughts. Dear Ivy, please know that we are loving and supporting you sweet (but sometimes spicy) baby girl.

I have no idea of their thoughts. They had a vet tech call me with those 2 options.
Really??!! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฌ
Thank you Mary for your support ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’•

Vet suggests metronidazole (Flagyl) for 5 days. I donโ€™t want to do that as itโ€™s sure to wreck her GI.
Or Animal Biome FMT capsules ๐Ÿ™ˆ
Jeezzzz.
That would be a big NO for me.

One of the things I add on to using the S. boulardi is this product (Dr. Tobiasโ€™s probiotic). Itโ€™s on the list on the FB IBD group for helping with soft poops/diarrhea. I found it works great. And I still give a higher dose of the S. boulardi.

Hey Marje, the link doesnโ€™t work.
Can you try it again or send it to me another way?
Her poop actually seems to be getting more loose since I stopped the RX Clay yesterday, the ondansetron, and the colon rescue.

She just went for a second time today and itโ€™s looser than the first time.
Holly had me reduce her S. Boulardii from one capsule to 1/2 twice a day ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Iโ€™m getting really worried because we seem to be getting worse not better.

I agree, Iโ€™m not a fan of the antibiotic. I think thatโ€™s not a great idea.

Oh no!! Staci, Iโ€™m so sorry that you and Ivy are going through this and for so long (and that I was away for so much of it). 2 weeks with loose stools is giving me PTSD from Binx, itโ€™s the absolute worst and my stomach has dropped just thinking about your sweet girl being uncomfy. Youโ€™re clearly doing everything and trying to find even more ways to deal with it, I do hope something can work and soon!

Iโ€™ve missed a lot, so apologies if I repeat anything and I also know you helped us a lot with our P-titis issues, so youโ€™re well aware of how we dealt with things. Only two things Iโ€™m wondering about (that I havenโ€™t seen above), any try of psyllium husk for you yet? Not sure it did much for Binx, but we tried it. And wondering about B12, I see sheโ€™s historically been high here, so perhaps not an issue anyways.

Sending many many healing vines and thoughts ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿซ‚

Thanks Briana, I was going to ask you how long Binx had his loose stools recently? I get the PTSD!!
Yes, she takes 1/8 teaspoon 2x daily (always as maintenance).
I haven't tested her B12 since Jan 2026 and we were due to test again in Sept - but I am working to retest it this week. Trying to get a lab appointment now, waiting for a call.
It has to be in the later afternoon since she's to be fasted around 6 hours.

Was there anything they determined with Binx and did anything help? I know it was a bad run for you, too ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚
