Good luck today Leroy!! Paws crossed for a smooth bandage change
He drinks plenty of water and hasn't been acting any differently apart from being slow with the bandage. Options are IV fluids for a few days, IV fluids today and change the bandage and send home with subq fluids, or the last option that I'm not considering. I opted to bring him home with fluids.

Sending lots of prayers for Leroy!!!The vet didn't seem too hopeful that fluids would help much considering all of Leroy's health issues![]()
Interesting question (but I don't know)Random thought - could methylcobalamine cause elevated BUN?? That's the only new thing Leroy has had recently. He's only had two doses.
No update on Leroy. The vet's secretary is trying to track the vet down.

He'll get IV fluids as soon as he gets settled into the kennel. Vet is on vacation in Ireland next weekI think you've done sub-qs before so you probably already know this, but I purchased an IV stand--they aren't expensive--got it at Amazon, I think. I was doing the sub-qs on my own too, and it was the only way I could manage it without help. Some people use a hanger on the shower/curtain rod.Methycobalamine is for the neuropathy. I use the Vitacost one instead of Zobaline.
Yes, I will be doing subq fluids at home. The vet knows I can handle it. The one issue I had last time was the 18 gauge needle kept popping out of the tented skinNot easy to hold the needle in place and also hold the fluid bag and squeeze it. No extra hands to help me during the week. I'll see if magic dog's owner or a friend of mine can help this weekend if I need it. Technically
person could help since she only lives like 15 minutes away but we're not really friends anymore.
Up LeroyScuba diving againHe's fine for 18 hours since insulin. Eating snack now.
