? 04/11 Blanche 14 cycles/7 full days NS 67 GM@AMPS 81@+5 Libre. Do I start an OTJ countdown?

Hello dears!
Since my last post a lot of (bad) things happened, one of them a full cup of coffee reversed in my macbook air... The poor think died an unexpected death. and poor me I cant work nor post or reply to any post from my phone...
I take screenshots from Libre readings 4days now and I pick my brother's laptop to update the spreadsheet and see what you do.💖
The one and only good think is that Blanche is on her eighth NS day and her numbers I think they are good. In fact I think they are marvellous because Libre reads higher than blood GM, every time!
I'm wondering maybe its time to start an OTJ countdown, @Bandit's Mom what do you think?
Tomorrow is Easter in Greece and today I had a trip scheduled and Blanche was part of it, insulin and all, but since she is doing so good I decided not to upset her with a first time flight stress and and an unknown environment, so she stayed behind with her favourite keeper. So for three days, maybe four, I will have only Libre readings since her keeper cannot test her.
And for this three, four days I will highjack my brother's laptop and I will be in touch. 🙃

Hi Blanche. I think you are seeing too many tests above 100 to officially start a otj trial. I’d continue with the food trial for now. You might need a drop dose but give this a little more time. Feel free to see what others think. Happy Easter.

I'm so sorry about the MacBook's death! Ugh!! And they are so expensive too :arghh:
Blanche's numbers are still holding fairly well in lower blues and high greens; in the last two days, she hasn't seen anything above 153, and most numbers are quite a bit below that, which is great. I agree with Elise's suggestion to hold for a few more days and see how she does--she might find her way down into all greens. Then, if you're not seeing more greens, perhaps starting her back on the DD, since you're following TR, and she hasn't had anything under 50 since 4/7 might be a good way to get her numbers tweaked down just a bit lower.

I cant say I disagree with you but I have to underline that her numbers are in reality much lower because Libre reads much higher (about 30 points) than the blood GM every time. Next weekend, I will try to make an hourly curve with GM to highlight the issue and then we can have a better perspective.

Thank you! I really don't know what to do! After Easter's holiday I must find a way to replace it since I cant really continue highjacking my brother's laptop. What a disaster...

As I said above to Elise, I don't really know if she had dropped bellow 50 because I couldn't check every low Libre number with GM, but every time I checked she was about 30 p. lower. But I will make a curve next WE and will see.

No, maybe I'm not express myself correctly. If I thought that an increase was needed I wouldn't ask if she is ready for an otj trial. I only wanted to note that even if the Libre reads in the 100 range, when I test with the blood GM her numbers are rarely above 100.
 
When you test with the ear prick is it right around when the liver reads higher blue? I ask because from what I have seen the libre usually reads lower than the ear prick and not higher. It’s actually more complicated though because I think the liver reading might show up to 30 minutes after. Stacy will know more about that. I’d still continue the food trial.

Yes I know that normally Libre read higher but not in Blanche's case. I had the first Libre changed by Abbot because it reads higher than blood GM and this is the second one and I have the same issue. In the ss all the tests and the exact time are noted. In the first row the Libre reading and in the second row the blood GM with the exact time of the test. For example, yesterday's AMPS was 104 on Libre and 67 on blood GM. At 04/10 she had an 117@AMPS Libre and 97@AMPS GM and an 91@PMPS Libre but 77@PMPS with GM.
 
She has already been without insulin for 10 days now. Not sure how much to believe the Libre numbers. For a few days, can you get the AMBG and PMBG with a meter? If you get a blue, get another test after 3 hours to see if she drops to green.

Hi Bhoooma, thank you so much for checking on her!
I don't believe her Libre numbers I use it for a general idea. But till 04/11 AMPS I always checked her AMPS and PMPS with blood GM and I will continue to do it from tomorrow morning when I will be back. Her GM numbers was always - with one exception at 04/06 104@PMPS - in the green range.
 
We have had several members that I have seen where the Libre reads lower than a handheld meter or right around each other.
(This is not the case for me personally) but it does seem to occur.

I don't know why....but it's so important to know how your kitty reads both handheld and Libre and what patterns you see,

Seems ECID here too @tiffmaxee 🤷‍♀️

I did not mean to imply it never happens. I also think the lag in liver reporting might just make the two measures even closer.

Lower. I meant lower. I know that normally Libre reads lower than GM but not in Blanche case. It reads always higher. Tonight, she had an 109@PMPS+5 on Libre and a 77@PMPS+5 on GM. (Back to base with her)
In fact, when I took a screenshot at the moment of the test Libre showed 109. When, one hour later I wanted to take a screenshot at the same moment Libre showed a 95. Still, much higher than 77.

Yep, you are one of those who find this situation. So glad you can test with ear pokes to be sure.
@Monster's Mom was another cat recently who had the same situation.
 
I was just thinking about you and Blanche today and decided to pop in and take a look at her sheet. She's doing SO WELL. I think an OTJ countdown might be warranted. I know you've been on a trip, and you might still be. Let us know when you get back.

I'm back with lot of tech issues (still no laptop, no libre, online formation 5 hours a day even Saturday 🙃) I just update her ss for the last three days and I was ready to post a new thread!
