the past few mornings been better.. ❤️‍🩹 he got his Lantus.. which is good, haha.

been doing what we can manage.. and letting that be ok cause honestly our best for that day is the best we can do. but doing most of everything and it goes ok.
the Niacinimide been a pain in my can tho cause lately they like falling apart on him.. im having to capsule. and capsuling isn't easy to pill pocket cause they slippery......
sigh. oh well. also.. there's so much binder to administer.. it feel unreasonable to go as high as is possibly needed. but the whole thing is an effort anyway I guess. we're trying to do the work the kidneys do.. so we gonna do our best. 💖

went to the vet finally for the pressure test and to do some blood.. and he gained some weight back! he's a little over 12 lbs now.. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
his pressure values were just on the threshold of being considered high, systolic of 180s/190s... and I don't think I can give him anythinggg...
because he has the white coat syndrome, and that's not terrible for him being at the vet and being stressed etc.. I can't give him nothing I don't think. :/ doc gave us some Telmisartan (yay..) to have, and I have it in case for the next week, but looks like his pressure maybe has righted.. for now.. or it very well might just vary. at least when that was taken.. his eye is also looking better.. so maybe it was a spike. but him being 180.. just right there.. I don't think we can do much..... but again we gonna see the next week, cuz we doc didn't want to do blood to give his anemia time to get catch up and get better. so I suggested we do it next week, to also have a baseline for everything; we'll do another pressure, he'll have been on the B Complex and his vitamins/supplements a month or more.. and we'll see how he is. I wanted to see his creatinine, and his phosphorus.. but alas. next week.. be nice to see how his antibiotics did, too.. I have noticed his potty amounts have lessened on them, on top of feeling better.. maybe that helped things, too. we'll see.. also will increase the Niacinimide to see how that's doing itself.

plan on increasing tmw probably PM.. least try to help his PS.. 💞 hoping things there considering look nicer too.. we'll see. I still have to update the SS..... things have been so behind for months...... its hard to catch up. but trying to do so.. also need to put up his records that were requested on the kidney board, but I have to cover contact info, or there's like some way to do it idk.. but ugh.. I think a lot of my tiredness is just sadness about things.. but im glad we got a little bit of a better handle. and doing our best. ❤️‍🩹 im burnt out tho rn.. I don't feel up to doing these things sometimes.. I don't feel up to us having to do it... but I still try.

also transitioning his food.. started the Tiki Cat After Dark Turkey & Turkey Liver.. they say 25%.. then 50%.. etc over a few days.. but im gonna do 20%.. over 10 days or so..
OOOH! anyone who uses Tiki Cat..
❓: the cans I see, looks like they have pepper in them.. but I heard that the supplement mix they use?.. or chelation?.. I don't even know what that is.. it smelled and looked ok?.. 🤡

glad its Friday.. ❤️‍🔥

❓: also combining his meds would free up every more hrs in the day.. does this look ok? (doc mentioned the only issue much she say was the Zenequin/AL hydroxide,, but that course is over w rn..)
~ are the B Complex, AM Niacinimide, Potassium, Miralax ok together? (The B vitamins pill pocketed, the Potass/Mira in the food..)
~ can his Niacinimide (PM) dose be given along with his PM Ondansetron and Milk Thistle?
~ does Cerenia have to be given away from food, or would it be ok to just give it with his one of his snacks? I been spacing it a little.. but not by much sometimes.. gets near his last PM snack..

ugh.. im sure there's more questions.. will add later when remember.. so appreciated. x 💖

So glad you had a good vet visit. Sounds like you are both doing better, hooray 🎉 for that!

I know you’re exhausted, no getting around that. It’s tireless what you’re doing 💪🏼
He’s such a good boy, he’s so lucky to have you as his caregiver 💕💗❤️🫶❤️‍🩹

I don’t have answers on the meds, but hoping others may have experience with that piece of the puzzle.

We send lots of hugs your way, keep on, you’re both doing amazing and we send lots of vines your way 🍃🍀🍃🍀🍃🍀🍃🫂🫂🫂💕💕 :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Hooray for weight gain, and best of luck with the food transition! ❤️

I can't speak to the other meds, but it's okay to give cerenia with a small snack. Honestly, I don't always give it with food at all; I have to try and triage some of Gen's meds, so I jam his cerenia in with his second daily doses of gaba and ondansetron (all three little pills in a capsule), and I like to give those awhile before dinnertime to hopefully clear out any nausea-based inappetence. Today I gave him a churu at the same time since I've curtailed his grazing a little and he's not used to that, but I'm not planning on doing that every day necessarily.

ty!!! we happy.. considering.. 💖 capsuling really can be great, esp if you can get them in.. combine all sorts of things together. 💘 well I been giving Cerenia before his last PS snack (I still do this.. its just ingrained haha..) maybe will just give together now.. idk. I was told it was fine; also heard its better on an emptier stomach.. shrug.

I’m not quite understanding. Did you get blood drawn for labs this time or not? Was he uncooperative?
oh no not him 😇; ughh doc didn't want to yet because she wanted to give his anemia a little more time to get better.. I wanted to.. so I says lest do next week, as she said giving the B vitamins time and other things too to see how things look.. she says it could take about a month w oral B vitamins, etc..

B complex, potassium, and miralax do not need to be separated. I never used niacinimide so do not know about that. Cerenia can be given with or without food.
