Do you give him the anti-nausea meds with the Mirataz?
Eat up, little Xander!!
I don't usually. He usually never eats that far off from average. I kind of use a decision tree of if he shows obvious signs of nausea or he eats 60% or less of average, i'd go for the anti nausea first but if he's only a little below or taking more effort I use the drop of mirataz.

I definitely have that fear of giving him mirataz if he's already nauseous but he seems to have responded really well to the small amount every few days the past few months. You know how Xander has a lengthy history of not being very food motivated. ๐Ÿ˜•

I may experiment with trying anti nausea/no mirataz one time, but hate to change things up when this has been working well.

Look at those two BEAUTIFUL babies!! Love them!

Please don't change anything that's working!!! It's hard enough to get them to eat. Food/appetite is a delicate flower.

I only wondered and asked for this reason: is he not eating because he's nauseous, in which case the anti-nausea med could be the only thing he needs, or is he not eating because he doesn't have an appetite for some reason, but isn't nauseous. You know him best, and it sounds like you have a good algorithm to make that decision, and it sounds like he probably just doesn't have an appetite.

Itโ€™s such a delicate balance you two are discussing! Great questions from Mary ๐Ÿฅฐ

You know him so well, Albert. We all hope he eats well! ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“
Kisses to your sweet boys! ๐Ÿ’—
Enjoy the weekend ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿฅฐ

Aww ๐Ÿ˜ป Yeah that's a great point. Sometimes its really difficult to tell if its minor nausea or just his appetite quirks. I often lean towards just his appetite or very minor nausea because he still usually eats at every offering, sometimes even licking the bowl clean. He just seems to reach satiety really easily and the less hungry he is, the more his eating quirks like only eating a fresh can etc. start to show up.

Always keeping an eye out for signs of nausea though

Thank you! You as well ๐Ÿค—

He was only 2 grams short of target yesterday and ended up getting to 15g short for his AM cycle, so definitely not bad. Just stressful when he starts to slow up because of the fear of the unknown.
