Two questions
Am I moving too fast?
Doing SLGS Lantus after low numbers scare on 1/23. Vet wanted me to restart him at 1-1.5 units & keep tracking his progress. Today Kuro's am test (150) was much lower after increasing his dose by 1/4 unit yesterday. NS given & +3 reading even lower at 82.
Am I following the protocol correctly?
I'm actually doing a 12/2 hr curve today. If his number continues to lower, am I right in skipping the shot? I'm a bit confused on how to best handle this.

I just tried to look euros spreadsheet and I'm not able to see it. We usually share access for anyone with the link on your signature (it can only be viewed by members)

There's not really enough information in your post to give you sensible advice.

As a general rule, lantus is a depot insulin this means that if a kitty has been on too high of a dose, we can continue to see low blood sugar numbers for quite some time until the deposit emptied.

Without seeing what you have dosed him with and when, and what values of BG you got it's impossible to be any more specific.

On slgs, you should hold the dose for 7 days ( unless he drops below 90 in which case he would earn a reduction)

Before taking the dose up it's useful to be able to answer the question
How low has this dose taken Kuro?
This is why you should at least try to run a 22 hour curve before taking the dose up. That said if you run the curve sn he's bouncing you don't really have the answer to that question. So if you are able to getting spot checks during the week at different points in the cycle can help you make a more informed dosing decision.

I think. If you want to follow slugs, and with the amount of testing that I would at least take him back to 1.75, or maybe even 1.5 (1.5 may be safer if your not able to do any more than amps and pumps tests)

He will probably be high at next pumps, don't worry about that, don't try and shoot down the high numbers. Be patient with lantus it often takes up to six cycles to see the full effect of the dose as the depot fills and stabilisers you will see longer duration and lower numbers.

Thanks so much for your reply. So it seems I increased his dose too quickly. Patience is clearly not something I have much of...
Since I held his dose to 1.75 for 6 days, and only increased to 2.0 today, I was thinking I'd take him back to 1.75. However, after looking at his numbers, I'll take your advice and drop to 1.50 for a full 7 days.
I'm so terrified of his numbers dropping like they did in late January, but the high numbers bother me, too. I've added his labs from his last vet visit. Will keep posting if I have questions, and also when I reach day 7 and do another curve.
