Admin where is the most recent list of recommended canned foods?

Boo is not CKD as previously diagnosed. We just need canned/wet food for diabetes. He eats a lot so I'd prefer to go with Fancy Feast or Kirkland Signature Pate. The list I just saw new food chart from the Dr Pierson, link below, was from 2017. Many thanks. I am still overwhelmed. Trying to get the food right and dealing with veterinary mis diagnosis and old treatment protocols. I just want solid info for meds (insulin, dosage) if needed and the proper food, which to me is a primary issue! So upset I just want to cry.

Cry if you need, to, we have been in your shoes, it is overwhelming for our precious fur ball to be diagnosed with FD, but the good thing is that it is manageable, with the right diet, feeding several meals during the day, home testing, the right insulin and lots of love, so you are in the right place, we can be here with you in this journey
the best insulins for cats are ProZonc and Lantus they are a 12-hour insulin and easy on the cats system

Here we have learned that starting on a small dose is best to see how your cat reacts to the insulin within a period of several cycles, each cycle is 12 hours

It is important to home test before each shot to avoid hypoglycemia and several times during the day, most member use th ReliOn Human meter and strips, reliable and accurate, we base our numbers on human meters, no need for A Pet meter, expensive and the strips are very expensive, the ReliOn can be purchased at Walmar for $19.99 and the strips are $9.00 for 50 and $17.88 for 100, is good to have extra strips handy

Fancy Feast, which you are feeding is a good choice they are US made and regulated so no waste goes into the food, although a diabetic cat needs to have a diet of wet can or raw food between 0-10% carbs, most members feed up to 5% Drs food list is old, there will be some flavors you may not find there But the carbs remain the same, and you are already doing that by feeding pates.yu can always find new flavors on CHEWEY.COM site, by finding the nutrients, using a cat carb calculator, we will always look for the Dry Matter carbs%

thank you so much. Someone sent me a photo of the walmart supplies I need to purchase for home testing, yet i can't seem to find it. Could someone resend it if possible?

Here is what you need to home test:

ReliOn Meter (I use the cheapest version and it works fine; purchase two, one as a backup--trust me on this)
Corresponding testing strips--buy the two pack
Lancets--you can purchase them at Wal-Mart, but I really like this brand because they are super sharp (I don't use a lancet device because the *click* scares Jude; I freehand)

Optional:
round cotton pads to put behind the ear to avoid poking yourself and
baby socks that you can fill with rice, tie, and then microwave to heat the ear
yummy low carb treats for reward

Also, related to food: look at this link. Go to the "CKD" chart. The third column over is the "carbs % of calories;" that's the one you're looking for. While that chart was created primarily for CKD folks, it has the carb values we use AND the creator updates it frequently (last updated 9/25). But it also has the bonus of showing phosphorous levels, which is helpful information as well.

The Ultra Thin lancets are 30 gauge, too hard for a newbie to get blood with and will just add to their stress and frustration. The Thin ones are 26 gauge which are better for a newbie to use.
