Good morning!

Pretty nervous about the low AMPS, if I look at Jan 3rd, he plummeted by +2.

I front loaded with some MC, gonna test his +1 before heading to school and have mom bring more MC at +3.

It's an exam this morning, no phones, no computers... aaargh

Also I think I might have gallstones... I've been in pain for a few days, I booked a doctor's appointment Tuesday after school..

Not a great morning TBH

Wishing everyone a good day!

Stay safe Pip, slow and steady please! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ
I hope you feel better Sarah, good luck with your exam ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’•

I did my exam and had to rush home... I am in a lot of pain, I am going to the ER.

My mom, roommate, or bf can give pip his shot this evening but they dont know how to test.

Should I get them to shoot a bit less or give a token dose while I'm in the ER?

I really hope I dont need surgery.

Freaking out a bit.

Left some more MC to Pip for now to be sure.

Wish me luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that you're in such pain (and had to do an exam anyway)! I hope you're not stuck waiting at the ER for too long. Best of luck with treatment. โค๏ธ:bighug:

I'll leave the question of dosing to people with more experience, though a token/partial dose does sound like a reasonable option to me? Shooting blind is scary, and that's how I handled it last time I had to (because my Libre was recalibrating). @Wendy&Neko @Christie & Maverick

Pip's numbers look good (and consistent with his recent cycles), so that's good!

Ya we get really long waits here but at least its free :)

So sorry to hear you're in pain. It's the worst. About 10 years ago I went through the same thing, excruciating pain and I thought it was my gallbladder. I went to the ER prepared to stay and have surgery and it turns out it was a Small Bowel Obstruction. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days and they cleared it without surgery, thankfully.

I hope yours doesn't need surgery and you can get back to normal soon.

Oh no, I am so sorry it's so bad! I hope they get to you quickly!!

I would change your title to a QUESTION mark in the drop down and put "Reduce Dose or Skip" so your post gets seen as a question!

My guess would be either a "token dose" or a skip since they can't test Pip and he has been dipping very low at times!!

Wishing you an easy time and sending lots of healing vines! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

I've just been given my leave from the hospital, also a small bowel obstruction and not my gallbladder... Huzzah!

going to be able to give Pip his shot after all! Great success!

Spent 6 hours in the ER, got a gyno exam, blood tests, an iodine scan, and a prescription for laxatives and 2 days off to rest.

I am so relieved!

If your able to get Magnesium Citrate, that will definitely clear it out. That's what they gave me along with a nasal gastro tube. Ugh! That is the worst!

Glad you're ok Sarah. A heads up to anyone living in the States and had an actual emergency. I know for a fact and many family members, there's barely a wait if you call an ambulance. They don't bring you to the waiting room, but straight into a room to be seen ASAP.๐Ÿ˜
And we may not have free Healthcare thankfully (though I have a friend in the UK and his 'free' healthcare costs him a mandatory 50% of his annual salary), when we need a surgery, there's no wait time or list unless you're needing an organ match. Also, you don't go on for depression or find out you have cancer, only to be given a pamphlet staying how easy euthanasia is. So personally, I'll take it. Even with the flaws. ๐Ÿ˜…
I used to pay over $800 a month just for health insurance for myself and my 2 kids. Then obama's plan kicked me off my private insurance plan and I decided to just pay cash when we needed. It's actually SO much cheaper. And there are many hospitals (if you go in the richer areas where all the specialists are) that will look at how much $ make, and give you a large percentage off the bill.
Both my daughter and I were medical weirdos, so I learned a few things.

Sooo glad youโ€™re ok!!
Feel better ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฅฐ

Thank goodness you are OK and your question is now just a hypothetical. :bighug: Get better fast.

To answer the hypothetical, if you are away or unable to monitor due to illness or whatever, always best to reduce the dose, especially if seeing more than the occasional very high greens. What we'd call a "petsitter" dose. In Pip's case, 2.5 units would have been easier for an alternate caregiver to draw with the syringes too. Solid lines are always easiest. For future reference, might want to take a picture of what his current dose looks like, so you can text to anyone in case of emergency. Unless you are using calipers for dosing.

I'm so glad you got to go home and that it wasn't anything too scary or requiring surgery! Wishing you a relaxing night, a swift recovery, and a smoothly-surfing and obliging Pip! โค๏ธ
