New member (post DKA)!

So just give her a small meal and test again in 30 minutes. Normally I would say in 1 hour but I want to get ahead of this. I will keep checking in with you.

Okay. That is not good. This is one reason why we want to spread the food out over the cycle and not let them pig out and get full all at once. When trying to steer numbers we need kitty to eat - so we feed small amounts at a time.

She only picked at her “dinner” about 3 hrs ago. She didn’t each much. Her last good snack was about 8 hrs ago.

I wonder why her appetite is so low. Wha t do you have that can tempt her? What is her current BG? I don’t want her dropping too low?
 
The Fancy Feast Salmon Feast in Gravy, if it’s this one… is low in carbs.

Since there’s not a lot of difference between a 166 and a 180 (but it’s quite stable) she may still drop toward +6, but I don’t expect her to drop super low tonight.

Did you hear back from the vet about stopping/tapering the Pred?

No, I did not get a call back. I’m calling when they open tomorrow.
 
A good AMPS this morning. I kept checking earlier to see if you needed help.

There’s nothing in the unit cell. I hope you gave the insulin. Lola is doing well. Let me know what’s going on today so I can help you.

I was happy to see that yellow cell this morning. She did get .5 units of insulin this morning with a small amount of food and more food at +2.5 and +6.

She ended up regaining her appetite last night after a bowel movement. :facepalm:

I can tell she's feeling better overall. Thank you for checking in with us!
 
Good to hear about her appetite. If they are constipated it frequently will take away their appetite.

Any tests so far today?
 
Morning! One bad ear poke was 141, a good one on the other ear was 115. She’s angry, but we’re withholding food and are going to retest in 30 mins.
