we got our lowest Bg reading yet!!!

Pip has LC food available and he's at 68.

Just to be clear, I don't give MC or HC or syrup unless he hits 50?

Should I wait an hour or half an hour to check his BG again?

That’s a pretty good drop into +2, how about a couple of teaspoons of higher LC, and then see what that does. I would test in 30 minutes.

If you find that the higher LC helps prop him up, great, but if you need to use MC to help slow the drop thereafter, that’s ok. Some cats are more carb sensitive, so higher LC can often get them to surf the greens. I’m around, so I’ll keep watching for updates.

numbers in the 60s look good, I’m not familiar with the Royal Canin Senior so not sure what % carb that is. So far so good, you can see how he does with a couple more bites since he’s staying flat, perhaps check in 1 hour. Usually with extra carbs on board at onset, that can help with the surf.

it's 20% carbs as per the food list, just gave him an extra teaspoon

Gotcha I couldn’t quickly see which one it was. Might have been a wee bit carb heavy, but good info for next time, and down the road you may find less carbs will do the trick. Sometimes early greens like this and perhaps similar to evening of Dec. 13th lose a bit of steam. Hoping Pip hangs onto the greens for a little longer today
