The only thing I can tell you about the Libre that I have noticed is that when our cats are in low BG numbers for extended periods (at least several hours at a time) I feel the Libre must have some kind of built in mechanism that triggers it to crap out.

It must be a safety feature (my guess) since the Libre is intended for humans, and if you think about it, if a human was in LO range or under 50 for many hours, that would be dangerous and a hypo situation.

So, I think it must be designed to shut down because it (sensor) thinks the sensor is faulty.

So that could be a downfall of using a Libre for a cat who is in very well regulated numbers, such as Monster.

It’s a good and bad problem to have, obviously.

You want Monster well regulated, but it would be nice if the Libre would continue to read those load numbers with no issues. 😫😻
That makes sense Staci. I would think the same would be true for especially high numbers too, no? I can't figure out this technology, I just want it to work correctly. I wish we had the pet sensors here. I saw they came out with them in the UK. No telling how long it will take to have them here.

I silenced the alarm on it because that's all it did over night. Then this morning her meter test was 128 and then the Libre started to catch up to it. So it is definitely delayed. I suppose whatever blood test you get, you would have to wait a few minutes for the Libre reading. That's what I have to do anyway. It'll be disappointing when it goes out, but not surprising to.me anymore. But if Monster stays well regulated, then that's a trade off I can accept. 😻

Hang in there with the higher numbers. They say 120 is normal, and she's just over that. Hope this so works out, v but I really do think it will. She looks like she's doing it the 'Right' way, unlike my goofball. Taking it step by step down.
Safe surfing Miss Monster & happy Monday!

Thanks! I'm wondering if she ate sooner to the PS than I expected. She was in the litter box leaving a present as I woke up. That must've been some hard work 😅
I just wish she would wait until my day off to take the next step down but she's never been overly accommodating like that.

Present.😅 That reminds me, I've got to scooping the 3 giant ones in my room. Angel's had diarrhea and I have to scoop twice a day with my. Fun.
But! She is decided to eat a few of the Rabbit freeze dried nibs I have. If I could get her on that full time, while I, might help that. One can hope.

Hope it was food that raised it slightly, but it's still a relatively low number. Like I said, 9 (on your contour) over regular levels.

100% correct, because the Libre isn't reading blood, it's reading the interstitial fluid in the tissue. So it is behind even when functioning perfectly. It's kind of useful though--if you do a manual test and it matches the number currently on the Libre, you know BG has been stable for a few minutes. If the number doesn't match at first but 'catches up' later, you know the BG was going up/down, maybe rapidly. If the Libre is having a good day, at least. :)

It's always weird when it matches exactly. But then when i go to log the numbers, it has usually changed by then, but it does initially throw me off 😅

Or it's just acting up as usual. 🤣

I really don't get it. She's had a couple of bumps that I thought for sure were food bumps. I have checked the cameras twice now, and she has not eaten since +2. I'm thankful she's not low but I'm so confused. It's +7 now and she's 98. 🤷‍♀️

Could be a number of things. Sensor getting ready to die, again. Or it could be that drop affecting it & maybe it's just too be too low, though I don't think so. Or it could be that weird dip she had last time a couple days after the change, but then she came back soon after with good numbers again. It's really impossible to tell yet. I won't go on with the patient pants, but essentially, yeah. It's a waiting game. Sorry.:(

Yeah I know it is. But I usually don't see her spike without food, so that's different. Maybe the depot at play here, maybe the Libre is acting right for once, so I guess once again, we'll see, lol.

@Staci & Ivy @Lauren & Esse I wonder if I could get your thoughts on this Libre. I had a bandage wrap around it holding "tight" and she seemed to be in higher numbers today. When I got home, I saw the bandage wrapping came off the sensor and was tight around next to it instead. I fixed it, and it immediately went staught down from 81 to the alarm going off. I did a meter test and it said 72 as the alarm.was going off. Am I able to trust the numbers from today as higher, or is it reading her low, when she's actually in the 70s? I'm co fused as to whether or not to wrap it again. I did put on a patch just now that I got today from Type One Style.

Edit: it's reading 73 right now which is closer to the 72 contour test I got half an hour ago. I'm so afraid of it coming off or loose.

it’s hard to say what’s going on with the covering being loose.
Her numbers are still all in green today so she seems to be stable.
I’d just watch and see where things go overnight and tomorrow. No way to really tell what went on today with the wrap.
I hope you have a calm night 💖

I wanted to post this for my future reference and to just show how her day was. So many dips and spikes so fast makes me think it's not accurate readings.
