12/17 - Pip - AMPS 304, +6 238, PMPS 297, + 2 247

You know, when people told me if I used treats they would do that, I was like... Not this cat. He's so skittish he still ducks & hides every time a car comes up the driveway.🙄 NO one could pick him up without getting clawed.
But it came true! The power of treats.😍
Have a safe surf and hope you continue to feel better

Pip just threw up his dinner 15 minutes after his shot :(

I gave him half a cerenia and a lil bit of fancy feast he seems ok

Guess I have to buy new ketone strips cause I keep getting the same weird color when I test Pip and myself

Are any of you using blood ketone testers?

Thank you kindly :)

I use those Ketostix as well. Yours looks over saturated. Did you shake off any excess and then count to the 15 seconds? I know they're hard to tell, as Trace & Negative look nearly the same.
I'd say it was probably negative. But can't be certain. If it's the same as yours, and don't have diabetes; I'd think it's good.
Sorry about the throw up. The Cerenia is the best thing fit him. And I usually add Ondansetron as well, just to help ease the stomach. And just make sure you don't feed Pip too much in the next feeding. One of mine just tossed her food 20 min ago. My 'Special' girl can't eat more than 20 kibbles at a time or she throws up. So I just gave her less for her next feeding.
Good luck and hope he feels better.

I'm going to need to look at more tutorials I guess I don't want to shake the stick too much?
It says 40 seconds on the bottle?

I gave him a small portion of food after the cerenia and he kept it down. I'll give him a bit more for his +2 snack

thank you you're always so sweet ❤️
How's Nico today? :)

Are you using the Ketostix brand? I just double checked online and got this.
I also read to give it a good shake to get any excess drops off it, so I always did that.
The Ketostix ones say after the 15 seconds, it will start changing in color. So you have to try hard to get it around that time to compare the colors. If you're using a different brand, I can't speak for those
Thanks for asking about Nico. He's bored and wants out of my room now, but I can't let him out. We tried to see how he'd do and after being out for a couple hours, his breathing was more exerted (he sounds like he's snoring while just sitting there awake) and the next morning he had an asthma attack.:( It happens to my other asthmatic when she leaves our room too.
We made our bedroom/bath area safe for their asthma. Hard laminate flooring, air purifier, and regional dusting the floors and everywhere in general on a regular basis. But we have valiant carpeting through the rest of the house. But my husband is going to start ripping up the carpet this weekend, to slowly replace it everywhere. So they can go out and play. The things we do for cats.😅
