Trying to trick my other girl that went into remission a few years back, into taking an Ondansetron here. Yesterday she refused to eat after throwing up a little bile 3x, until I gave her Mirataz. She does NOT do car rides well and was just there anyhow, so hoping not to have to take her back. My cancer hurt suddenly decides she's doesn't like the forta flora that she lives for 2 days.πŸ™„ I had no positive experience with S boulardi in the past, but does anyone know if there's really any difference between the 2? I don't think the sb has a taste, did it?
Oh thank goodness baby Nico it's doing great at least. ❀️
Have a safe surf and lovely day all!

Very nice of Nico to give you one less thing to worry about!
I think so too! If he wasn't currently one of my favorites, he would be now!πŸ˜…
With winter's cold setting in the raccoons area going to be getting snippy soon. Which means treating wounds. That will stressful enough. And some poor young possum is now missing half his tail!🀬 Which means there are traps in the woods surrounding my home. Time to go trapsing through them again to see if I can find any. I so dislike hunters. But hunters that use traps like those leg holds it the teeth? Sickening.
Sorry. Very opinionated about people willingly hurting animals like that.

And hoping your girl will feel better!β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή
Not sure if SB has taste, Ivy eats it in her main meal as a maintenance dose, along with other supplements.

I feel the same as you about anyone who could hurt an innocent animal πŸ˜«β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ€¬

A very happy Day 11 to Nico, and to you as well Tyleete! πŸ’š πŸ’š πŸ’š You're such a warrior for animals, I appreciate it so much.

(I don't have a big problem with people hunting conscientiously, especially if it's to make use of the animal for food, clothing, etc. We have a huuuge white-tailed deer overpopulation issue in my state, and since we've gone and killed/chased off all their natural predators, humans need to step in before the unbalancing screws up the local ecosystem too much. But cruel traps are horrible and wrong, and I so admire you for fighting against them!)

Yeah, I wish people would just leave things alone to begin with.:( Nature has a balance, if we but leave it alone.
My neighbors are the type to leave bowls of water out with poison as well as leg traps. They also do something I find disgusting, they hang their 'trophies' up on a wall. I don't care who you are, I happen to find those types to be one step below serial killers. Cause serial killers live to hurt and kill animals first, and Always keep trophies. So they can look at them to feel that rush.
Two years ago I had to rush a 5mo old racoon to get help after I found him with a bad compound fracture to his back leg, due to one of those traps. Poor luv had to be amputated. I also have 2 others (1 raccoon and 1 old timer possum that had their tails completely lopped off from them. Those things are so cruel. :(
I also have deer in the woods surrounding my house. At one point we had 7 in this one herd that ate daily at our place. 4 generations I watched grow up here. But now there's only 5, and 1 of those is a new boy that's come around to claim them. It's so sad to watch these animals you watch over, feed, tend to, and protect be hurt and killed. It just sucks.

Completely different products. S. boulardii is a probiotic fungus - think of it as mopping up the bad bacteria in the gut. Fortiflora pretends to be a probiotic, but only has one type of flora and not the most common one in a cat's gut. A good probiotic will help restore the good bacteria in the gut. I use Visbiome for my IBD kitty, but there are many others like Proviabe (vet product) or even a good human probiotic like Renew Ultimate. I've successfully hid s. boulardii in food, or Churu if I want it to be completely eaten.

Oh crud! I just bought 2 boxes of this junk! I knew there was a reason I didn't like the stuff, but my very convinced me it was great!πŸ™„
She did mention the Vizbiome and I've tried it (unsuccessfully) on a previous ibd bot, but it's too expensive right now. As is I switched 2 if get siblings to a rabbit limited ingredient food that costs a lot, have 2 eating fresh, cooked meat, and on top of everything else I'm having to dish out in supplements and now the Chlorambucil $50 every month? I don't have what that stuff costs as well. I shall definitely have to find the less expensive method, at least fir the foreseeable future. But how do you know what to look for in a probiotic? There's so much of there competing with each other, each with more of what's supposed to 'fix it'.
Thanks!
