Her bg 145, is also 145 Libre as well. Not sure how that happens. She seemed to dip around +5 or +6 overnight but not too low. No alarms this time. It makes me wonder why she is starting the day a bit higher than she usually has recently.

I can't speak to the comparative numbers since I only use the Libre (at least right now), though I suspect it will get less confusing with time. Monster's looking really good overall, and today's not really that big a jump from yesterday's AMPS?

I hope you both have a safe and pleasant day. 💙💚

I fairly frequently get values that are close together comparing a handheld meter to the Libre--since the Libre (serum glucose) is about 15 minutes 'behind' the blood glucose on the handheld, that typically means glucose has been fairly steady for the last lil bit of time. This is a useful video for explaining how it works:

Thanks! It's amazing how quick it changes on the Libre. She went up to that 164 eight after I entered it in the SS. 😸

The Libre does tend to "correct" itself, too - I've had numbers change a lot from what they were when I first looked at them. I know there's an explanation for why that happens around somewhere, but I don't remember exactly where in all the many, many posts and documents I've read recently.

I didn't realize that.
So that might make some more sense why they're different then?
The numbers aren't high right now, so while I don't know what's causing it, doesn't seem a worry yet. Just to watch it.
You'd mentioned the numbers seem to go down while she's just laying around. I'd be curious if they'd go up during playing or running around? I don't know how much she plays about, but might be interesting to learn.

She's not much of one for playing. She likes to bully her sister though, and she looks at her like she's crazy when sissy gets the zoomies and runs all over.

One potential pitfall with the Libre, I think, is how much space it gives you to obsess over the minutiae of your cat's cycles. It's fascinating to see how different activities and circumstances affect them, and I think that's fine, but I also think it's a little to easy to cause yourself too much worry by looking at it constantly. (This surely depends on the particular owner - I'm given to this kind of anxious obsessiveness and have to really watch myself to make sure I'm using the monitor in ways that are genuinely useful and not overdo it.)

Not saying you're doing any of that at all! But as a recent adopter, it's something I've been thinking about and thought might be worth sharing. 💙

I am test obsessive, for sure. But now with this thing, unless I think it may be reading wrong or really off. I don't need to test so much to see where she's headed. I also don't want to get too used to or comfortable with it, because there are going to be times it either isn't communicating, has errors, or falls off and I won't have it. But it's nice to give me more of a cycle I can predict.

I think that's a sensible attitude! If you can balance keeping an eye on things without getting sucked into fretting over every tiny variation, I think that's ideal. The overall picture is more important than a couple of odd mid-cycle numbers here and there, etc.

(And I say this while I fret about my cat's high numbers and check the app way, waaay too often, of course. But it's the approach I'm trying for, at least! 😅 )

I understand! I haven't gone to work yet while having it. I'm sure every chance I get ill be.looking in on her
