A bit higher start to the day today. Libre reads as 116.
I managed to get the wrap around her covering the Libre and of course she has to be dramatic about it πŸ™„ and flop over like she can't walk. Although, this morning she seems to be accepting it a bit more.

I got to experience the LOW alarm as I was trying to fall asleep, she was fine of course and I ultimately turned that alarm off.
Have a great day everyone!

Oh my gosh, that photo is AMAZING. Suddenly Monster's legs totally don't work, OH NOES. πŸ˜‚ She's so cuuute. Look at that expression!

Higher numbers (still pretty good numbers if you ask me!) could be related to a little minor stress with the changes? I hope she has a smooth surf today regardless.

Oh haha I love how dramatic they get the moment you dress them up. Nestle used to do the same thing whether it was a shirt or harness, he'd just fall over and pretend he couldn't walk.
Over the years he got over that and now accepts it and I can dress him up if I want to.
But she's so darn adorable 😍
Hopefully she surfs nicely and safely.
Happy thursday!

Thank you, Allie. I was laughing so hard last night at her just flopping like a turtle that got stuck. She wouldn't even jump up on the bed to sleep with me. Payback, I'm guessing πŸ˜…

You're right, she's still in good numbers and I'm so thankful for that. She seems to be responding well. I was surprised to see her a bit higher than average, for her, this morning, but I did skinny her dose yesterday morning out of fear. That and all of the events with the sensor yesterday, it's not really that surprising.

I hope Gen is enjoying the little break he has from his sensor. And best of luck with the replacements.

Than you, I want to try to find her a little shirt, but then I keep having that picture I saw of Winnie-the-Pooh in my head and think she would likely compare πŸ˜‚ with her belly. Plus the current fashion of this wrap is not to her standards. It's all I could get in a pinch and she needs to look her fabulous self. 🀩

Oh my gosh. Saw it yesterday, and still made me laugh out loud just now.🀣 She's so adorable!
Just out of curiosity, did you check this mornings numbers against the libre? To see how it compares?

I use baby onesie 3-6 mths on Nestle. I know Staci uses a tube top to cover Ivy's Libre. Hopefully you can find a solution that works for Monster and makes her look stylish and fabulous of course πŸ₯°πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ˜

Yes, I added them to her spreadsheet. The Libre was a little lower (116) I think, bit still within the margin of error. I'll just have to get used to the sensor readings and judging by those. I still manually test for PS though. I trust that more. Plus if something seems off, I can test and make sure.

Her alarm went off around +2 for her Libre reading 63, checked with contour its 83. These differences are going to take some getting used to. I keep messing with the alarm settings because I want to know when she goes low, but it won't let me set it as low as I want.

Oh geez! I'm sorry if this turns out to be a bad idea. And it just HAD to be at 3am previously.🫣
I actually just canceled my order for the 150 alphatrak test strips & thinking about sending the unopened AT3 back to Chewy. I think it was a good idea to just go with the Relion and keep that on the spreadsheet to help the ones giving advice. That's nearly $200

I don't think I would consider getting the sensor on her a bad idea, just the alarm notifications, lol. It will help me monitor when I can't be with her and that is the #1 reason for the headache of the phones beeping at me constantly πŸ™ƒ. If she stays low and it doesn't start to come up after a certain amount of time, then I can get worried. So many things can effect the readings and I just have to get used to that as well.

I definitely know now, what you're going through with 2 different numbers. I think if we were strictly working with our Vets, it might make sense to use a pet meter since it's closer to what they use. But once you interpret the numbers on a human meter and judge by those, you get to know them and can follow those. I have an ipet pro also. I put it away after a few days because it made sense to me to just use one and stick with that and screw the vet's office. I made the decision to go by human numbers since everything seems to be based on those, and they are so much cheaper in the long run. Although, I have gone through strips like water these past couple of weeks from testing so much. I feel like I can slow down on that with having the Libre and with knowing how she normally does with her cycles. It's not down to a science yet, but it's all more predictable than it was when I started this journey with her.
I definitely recommend choosing one and sticking with it so you can learn to rely on those numbers.

I decided to check her +3 with the contour after a low alarm of 52 on the Libre and she really is low, at 63. That's the closest I've seen those readings. I know 63 isn't too low, yet, but I'll keep checking her with the meter. She did eat at +2, her normal LC food and she's resting now, of course.
Here I am using two readings after just recommending choosing one and sticking with it πŸ˜…

Ok! So I take it back then.πŸ˜…
With my first diabetic, I bought this after the vet told me it needed to be a pet one.
You were right, just keep to this to make it easier for those trying to help me here. I'll use my pet one when the vet wants me to give her readings or a curve at home.
I think you're doing such a smashing job figuring this all out, so you'll have it down in no time. I swear, pretty soon YOU'RE going to be one of what we refer to as the pro's & giving advice.
Just be sure you set a 'shift'.πŸ˜…

Ha! The only thing I'm going to have down is Monster and her diabetes. I'll be an expert in HER CARE! I don't know about other cats.... yours has his own ideas about how insulin is supposed to work and want to contradict dosing guidelines.

I do hope I can become an expert in monster's care so I can help her get better and live the happiest life she can, with me❀️😻 (is forever too long?)

Well CRAP! I think the sensor failed πŸ˜”
Nothing for about the past 30 mins or so and the app just says "sensor error" I really thought it would last, I was thinking maybe I did something right.... obvious not. Stupid sensor!!!
The vet only sent in one sensor with 5 refills so I don't even know when I can get another one. This one was free, from the Abbott site but I will definitely let them know it failed and see if I can get a replacement.

Ok, I'm so going back to Sorry. HA!
I would think if the company wants you to become a user, they'd give you another free one to replace it. Good luck.πŸ₯°

Not so fast! Sensor errors happen sometimes for other reasons, like a change in BG that the app is having some difficulty catching up to. If you're home, I'd try restarting the phone you're using for the connection to the sensor. Open the Libre app, which will still probably give you the error message, then give it a few minutes and check again. That did the trick for me quite a few times.

Sometimes it would come back on its own, but restarting seemed to help if it was taking its time.

It's a fussy little piece of technology and takes some getting used to.

Perhaps the resident expert would like to weigh in? ❀️ @Staci & Ivy

It's been about an hour now. I restarted the phone, tried restarting the Bluetooth to get it to scan again... I'm just judging by "my luck in cases like this" but I'll see if it comes back up

Yeah, mine would give me that message only to eventually come back online and backfill all the data. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I think it did that at least once every day, usually more. I don't know if it was normal, but all the guides I've read say it can happen sometimes.

It might be worth submitting a request for a free replacement from Abbott just in case, but I wouldn't take the sensor off or anything just yet.

After spending 2 hours messing with 2 phones and online researching this stupid Libre... it suddenly comes back on! I am hating it and loving it at the same time. I don't like complicated things!!!! I strive for simplicity and that's just not possible with all of this.
Now, I'm and putting my phone down and doing anything but be on it for a while.
