Nice order of operations with the butt-to-injured-leg pipeline, Leroy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ugh. I hope it doesn't get infected. 😩

OMG😲 I didn't think of that :nailbiting: Just what he needs on top of everything else🫣 I'll ask the vet about Clavamox.

Vet wants me to do the skin culture swab on Leroy and bring it back to be processed. It's literally just a cotton swab. He doesn't let other clients do things like this at home so it just shows you how much the vet trusts me to care for Leroy at home ☺️ Plus the vet is well aware of what my job generally involves so he knows I can do pretty much everything veterinary related. I'll pick up the swab kit this weekend along with more meds for Raisin.

Magic dog update: his pathology report shows hemangiosarcoma :( He has a recheck tomorrow and will also meet with the oncologist. He will still come on Friday as planned. I might have to cart him outside to potty.

Oh, my...and now we're crying over Magic Dog! Poor baby! Good luck with the skin culture swab.

Leroy won't care about me swabbing his wound. Hopefully the results won't show fungus or something weird🤞 I've searched the forum as far back it goes (2014) but there are no posts about cats with similar non healing wound issues. Posts from before then are long lost and Wayback Machine has no archive of the old FDMB going back to 1996.

Magic dog may or may not tag along to the vet hospital on Saturday. He's still supposed to take it easy and not move too much. We'll see.

Odd because humans with diabetes certainly have non-healing wound issues all the time.

Sorry to have given you more to worry about! In fairness, they do lick their butts and then eat, etc so it's probably not any worse.

This is what I was thinking too. Tissue fragility and difficulty healing is very common with human diabetics and my vets have always agreed that it's the same with cats. 🤔

Oh no!! Not Magic Dog!!! 😭 I'm so so sorry to hear this! Poor baby. ☹️
