Very relieved we are past the time change situation of this weekend. I think it may have played into Ivy’s very active a.m. likely yesterday, although I’m not 100% sure.

She did bounce last night so I was able to sleep, woo hoo
I’m still trying to figure out what to do about her dosing on the methimazole for thyroid, I can only imagine her vet won’t be thrilled that I’m giving a lower dose than they recommended, but it seems to be controlling her peeing.
I’m so concerned about over dosing with this medication.

At the moment we aren’t waiting for any news from the vet.
I’m trying to get some advice from some hyperthyroid groups about how to dose her with the thyroid meds.

Sweet Ivy!!

Seems I missed some big stuff while away, glad she seems to be doing better with the switch to pills. Hope you get some answers from others online, but if the reduced dose seems to be working for her, that’s good. You can always go up, right? But starting higher than needed, sounds risky but I don’t know the side effects.

Agreeing with Briana that it looks like I've missed some stuff (). You do such an amazing job with Ivy; even if the vet disapproves of your dosage I think you're trustworthy to know what's best for your girl. After all this time, we've seen that!

Hi ....I missed what's going on with the methinazole...im sorry Ivy seems to be having issues. Sending big hugs!

She was peeing double the amount of her norm, took her in for a urinalysis and labs last week.
No problem with urine, T4 went up again to 5.6.
The conclusion was the transdermal methimazole was really not cutting it and had never gotten her back into the normal range
We switched her to the pills which I was trying to avoid doing all this time, I cut her dose in half from 5 mg transdermal to 2.5 mg pills.
I will test her on 11/26 to see what her range is and hope and pray she does not have a bad reaction to the pills
