Hope everyone had a good weekend! We had a long weekend, so spent some extra time offline and with family.

We can't seem to hold onto any good numbers! However, I also think Sadie threw up last night and of course, Binx just had to eat it. I've thought about switching her to the same LC diet, but she doesn't go for the wet food and it ends up getting wasted.

I've also been waking up to bile/stomach acid from Binx several mornings a week. Based on camera footage, this usually happens between PM +10 to AMPS... I presume because he's hungry. I'm thinking about trying to add some slippery elm bark to his PM +6 snack. Does anyone have experience with this? @Bron and Sheba (GA) I saw some older posts where you had used it, any insights would be very helpful! Thinking about starting with 1/8 teaspoon.

Happy Tuesday! Safe surfing 🤗

Thanks @Lauren & Esse I do. So, @Briana + Binx slippery elm bark has been a game changer for my cats who've taken it, and also for me. The combination of slippery elm and Cerenia was great.

I found that for my kitties who've had pancreatitis or IBD it helped them have soothed, calm tummies.

I use the recipe from Slippery Elm | Little Big Cat - Dr. Jean Hofve, where you make a syrup of slippery elm, and then keep it in a jar in the fridge. It'll last for about 2 weeks. It stopped my cats from being ill with throwing up bile. I'd give a bit early in the day and later in the evening, and it was enough to make a big difference. Let me know if you have any questions I might be able to help with.

Best wishes and happy tummies!

Thank you @Lauren & Esse for tagging Lara!

Lara, thank you for this! I'm so glad to hear it's helped your cats, I'm hoping it will have that same impact for Binx. Good to know that you just give it in the morning and later in the evening and that does the trick! I'm going to track down the powder this week and test it out. Thanks again 🤗

I use the loose powder because it's more economical. This is the one I have, and it's pretty much a lifetime supply 😸

I just noticed you're in Canada too, so I'm glad you can get this one. It's high quality.

And why this is a good supplement to have on hand is that it's good for people as well as cats. For anybody who feels like they're coming down with the flu, mix a teaspoon of this in boiling water and sip it like tea. It has a pleasant, nutty flavour, and works quickly to soothe your stomach. Slippery Elm supposedly has some other benefits that I've never delved into as well. I just tell everybody to have it at home, because it's indispensible when you need it.

And I hope you had a very happy Thanksgiving!

How did I miss that you're in Canada too! Love that :) Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too!!

Sounds like this slippery elm is good for me too, great!

I listened to a podcast not too long ago where a nurse with a naturopathic background listed slippery elm as one of the best herbal cures for everyone to have in their medicine cabinet. I've located the brand you posted, Lara (and I might order it for me!). But, for it's ease in use with Jude, I'm wondering about a tincture like this: Pet Wellbeing Slippery Elm. I see that this herb is also helpful for urinary issues, so I'm thinking of introducing it into Jude's list of supplements.

Briana, I hope you can find something to ease Binx's tummy issues.

Thanks, Mary 😊 I hope this can be of help to Jude too! If you try to tincture, let us know how it goes.

Hi @Mary & Jude - any way that it's easiest for the cat is best, in my view!

But this seems very expensive. for what it is. I used to put the slippery elm syrup on my cats' food, or mix it with churu, or fill a syringe with it and gently syringe it in their mouths.

However, the main thing is to have it on hand in whatever form you and your cats like. I think that not enough people know about this gentle and effective remedy.
