Glucose levels

You can even give the shot while they are eating. I didn’t mean to say that you did give the insulin or that you should but I was wondering what the number was at what would be the regular shot time. I would worry about skipping any shots if ketones are in the picture. And ketones can begin to form when there’s not enough insulin given.

Did you hear back from the vet?

No not yet

She ate a small bit during night and small portion wet at about 7 30 this morning. Has not vomited anything since Sunday evening
Then I probably would not skip the shot. She doesn’t need to eat large amounts necessarily as long as she will eat small amounts during the early portion of the cycle.

I was finally able to reach my vet and took Lucy in yesterday afternoon. Luckily no ketones or uti. She gave her Cerenia for nausea and suggested increasing the amount of appetite stimulant, Miritaz transdermal. She has finally begun eating again last night so I was able to give her 1/2 unit of insulin. The appetite stimulant makes her especially vocal but it's worth it. Not entirely sure what started this whole episode but hopeful she is feeling better.
