Yesterday

Broke her bounce fairly quickly. I think she is still getting used to the lower numbers. She tends to lose her appetite a bit in the mid-blues after a bounce. She also seems to be a bit hair-trigger on her bounces these days. Curious as to where the night goes.

Other than that, she is doing well. It is a beautiful day here and Bell spent it in bed in the sun. Such a lazy cat :D

That sounds (and looks) so much like Xander! Losing the appetite with the blues and then bouncing from what seems like nothing. :rolleyes:

Nice blue PS tonight though!! I hope she slides down nicely for you tonight and then doesn't bounce off into the stratosphere. :)

If it wasn't for the difference in paw pads, I don't know if I would catch that that isn't Bell! Xander is a sweetie.
 
I did a bit of a mess-up just now. Bell is down to just 2 types of fancy feast that she will eat :rolleyes:, so I tried to mix in some new food this evening:

I didn't find this in the food charts and ran the numbers through the calculators, but then looked at the carb % including moisture (2.7%) instead of the dry-matter basis (12.3%). I probably added an equivalent of 1/8 a 3 oz can to her food. She turned up her nose initially but then ate it all up! Too bad it was medium carb... I don't think it will impact her too much. So maybe I have a better MC option than the FF gravy ones I've been using.

If anyone has any recommendations of better food (mostly concerned about the phosphorus content of FF) that they've successfully transitioned from FF classics, I'd be grateful! Bell doesn't like anything shredded. I think I'm going to try and track down some nulo, tiki cat, and weruva pates. I've unsuccessfully tried tiki cat and weruva in the past but they've been of the shredded variety. Maybe someday I'll become a pro like @Staci & Ivy and make my own food, but i have doubts that she will eat it and i don't eat meat so the thought of doing that regularly is not super appealing :p. Actually I think a good goal in general with this FD stuff is to be more like Staci.

It's an interesting dichotomy. lol He's like that with literally no one else. The first morning after I adopted him as soon as he saw me awake he ran up and laid on my head like "I choose you" when he wouldn't let anyone else near him. He still didn't even want me to hold him, but it was still like he chose me. It actually took him until like 5-6 years ago that he started being this way, constantly with me! But lol aww! Not a cuddly girl, I guess. Is she very independent or just so skittish that she doesn't even want to be on her special person?
 
Awe that is so sweet! Bell had been at her shelter way too long when I adopted her. I tried to pick her up and put her on my lap and she just clung to the huge food bowl they had there :D.

Blair is weirdo. She's a big bully to Bell but she is such a scaredy-cat. Any noise or unfamiliar thing and she hides, but she likes to act real tough. She is comfortable around me but is not a lap cat at all. The most she will do is lay next be me and lean on my legs.

Aww, poor Blair. That's really unfortunate, that maybe she learned to be less trusting before she finally got out of there. Or then again, maybe she just overall isn't a lap cat, even with you (like you said)!

Funnily, in his first several years Xander was also a jerk to our other kitty! Like, a huge jerk and a giant wuss. That's how I described him to everyone. He got better on both fronts, but it's funny that they were the same that way too!
