Good morning everyone :cat:

I don't think I have April Fool's jokes for you today. Just hanging in there today and preparing for the surgery.

Last night I just dropped dead asleep in front of the TV like an 80-year-old woman :p:p:p DH took care of Fistuk last night, and I heard nothing. I think the painkillers make me very tired. I'm taking much less but I still need them. I've got a control visit to the gyno today but the scar is healing nicely. Just in time for Fistuk's operation.

Fistuk ate almost all breakfast by himself for DH. He peed and had all his vitamins and retired to his morning sleep. The sun is showing some pawsitive signs today so hopefully will get some for him later to recharge.

The vet said the gabapentin is safe for the kidneys and that it helps relax the cat so they need less sedatives, which is overall better for the cat.

Tomorrow, I'll need to wake up at 4am (+9 PM for us) to feed him and give him 1/2 the insulin dose and gapanten to prepare for the surgery. I need to bring him at 8am, and we're an hour's drive away and it's rush hour... so we'll need to leave early.

Fistuk looks good! He gained 200g which I'm happy about.

Wishing you all a peacful day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, so glad to hear about the updated surgery date for tomorrow. Sending lots of prayers your way.

Your boys are so sweet the way they line up to go outside to catch some sun.

Sending healing thoughts to you also, hope you’re feeling much better and lots of good luck tomorrow and safe travels to get to the vet.

Thanks, Staci :-)
I'm feeling better, though the doc poked the skin a little and stretched it so I'm feeling some pain after. I'm tried of taking pain killers. I'm catching up with all the meds I ahven't taken whoughout my life.

Aww I'm so glad to hear Fistuk is doing so well! Love the picture of them waiting in line for the door.

I'm new enough to not know all that you're going/have gone through, but it sounds like a lot! I hope you're healing well and have lots of time to rest after the chaos of getting up so early and getting him to his surgery.

Sending you both love and healthy vines! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good morning everyone :)

I haven't slept all night :p But it's not already morning and we're almost ready to go.

He didn't have a great evening. Didn't really want to eat. We had a full blown blue PM cacle.

I gave Fistuk now 1/2 his morning breakfast portion with 1 gabapentin and I think he already looks a bit sleepy. i really hope this works. I also gave him 1/2 of the insulin dose - 0.4U

Keep Fistuk in your prayers that all goes well.

I'll keep you posted :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Brianna :)
Thank you for the resnnace. It is a lot. Especially when it's going on for a while... Labour of love :cat:

I cancelled a meeting this morning to give myself a bit of time to rest. And we'll see if I can rest while knowing that Fistuk is in surgery...

It definitely gets exponentially more exhausting the longer it goes on. I completely understand!

And of course our own bodies don't stop doing their own thing and having their own problems in the midst of all of it! It's so much.

I understand the difficulty resting when you're worried about your baby too! Maybe all the exhaustion won't give you a choice. Hoping you're able to get at last some rest!
