? lower preshot numbers. dosing questions

@Suzanne & Darcy
Hi Suzanne I asked Maxine on her previous post
Are you going to stick with the Alpha Trak for tonight? If so you would reduce the dose . It would be 0.25units and she said

Yes I will continue with alpha trak I didn’t realize I had to buy the control solution separately ‍♀️ sill me opened up my reli on to set it up and I only have my strips and my monitor . I didn’t even think about a control solution so Iam trying to order from Amazon I still have enough alpha trak strips to hold me .

So tonight for her pm I should go with .25?

we shot at .25 this morning. last night I tested with the AT3 and from the same prick I tested the ReliOn and the numbers were super close. is that normal?
AT3-143 ReliOn 140.
this morning I tried to start with ReliOn and it wouldn't take the blood. maybe it was not enough but seemed like a decent amount. it gave me an Error4 message. so I had to test with the AT3 meter.

On a Relion glucose meter, an "E4" error typically indicates an issue with the test strip: either it's not inserted correctly, the wrong type of strip is being used, or there's an issue with the blood sample.
Here's a more detailed explanation of the possible causes and solutions:

Possible Causes:
  • Incorrect Strip Insertion: The test strip might be inserted upside down, backwards, or not fully inserted into the meter's test strip port.
  • Wrong Type of Strip: You might be using a test strip that's not compatible with your specific Relion meter model.
  • Insufficient Blood Sample: Not enough blood or control solution was drawn into the test strip, or the sample was applied after the test had started.
  • Sample Issues: The blood sample might be smeared, or not large enough.
  • Damaged Strip: The test strip might have been damaged or moved during testing.

Troubleshooting and Solutions:
  • Ensure Correct Strip Insertion:
Carefully remove the test strip and reinsert it, making sure it's facing the correct direction and fully seated in the port.
  • Use Compatible Strips:
Double-check that you're using the correct type of test strips for your Relion meter model.
  • Apply Sufficient Blood:
Apply a sufficient amount of blood to the narrow end of the test strip, until the meter beeps.
  • Repeat the Test:
Discard the original test strip and repeat the blood glucose or control test with a new strip.

Try again tonight Maxine

I remember when I first started with the ReliOn, I had to get the hang of it. Did you just touch the end of the test strip to the drop of blood and let the test strip kind of suck up the blood?

man I've tried again and it won't work for me.frustrating! More blood came out this time and it sipped it right up but still gave me the error 4 . its worked once before for me so I know they are the correct strips . my girl won't tolerate too many attempt. im lucky to have my fingers in tact :smuggrin:haha

Sorry you're having trouble with the Relion , nice +2 last night. I hope tomorrow morning it goes well with the Relion :bighug::cat:

Its really giving me a hard time! haha. I've been trying to test with both just to see what the numbers look like on each. Sunday it worked for me. The numbers were super close. on the AT3 -143 and the ReliOn 140.Then I got a bunch of ERROR4 .This morning ReliOn worked.ReliOn read 134.AT3 read 161.

I tried again when I got home from work but sadly I got another error 4. i'm flying through these strips.Quickly running out of AT3 strips and will soon only be able to test with the ReliOn. :nailbiting: I hope it gets its act together.

I really don't know what the problem could be . I have never had an error show , many members use the Relion and have never had a problem
.Try testing it on yourself and let me know what happens
Maybe you are using too much blood
Applying the Blood Sample:
  • Apply Sample:
After the symbol appears on the screen, apply the blood sample to the narrow end of the test strip until the meter beeps.
  • Monitor Beep:
If the confirmation window is not filled in time due to insufficient blood volume or abnormally high viscosity, an "Er4" message may appear.

Just a suggestion when you start a new post why don't you put the
Date Milah AMPS # and any additional tests after that. You can continue with the PMPS in the title and any additional tests after that.

Start a new post everyday and link the previous days post.

To add the additional tests tap on the word Thread Tools that is to the right then tap on Edit Title add the tests and tap save
Post on the Prozinc like you have been doing :cat:

From what I read on our group
The Alpha Trak is calibrated a little bit differently and tends to read higher than a human
