Last night was a long night with Butch dropping and giving me a hard time eating his normal mc and hc to raise his bg. I was finally able to get him to eat some kibble and Friskies indoor 25%. It was rough and scary. We both settled to get some sleep at the +4 only to be woken by the Libre sensor alarm at the +6 :blackeye: Once again, he would not eat his normal lc, so I fed tsp of 25% :(

@Bandit's Mom @tiffmaxee @Staci & Ivy @Marielle Thank you all so much for your support :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Butch and I appreciate it!

Today AMPS was pink. I am not surprised after last night lows. Butch wouldn't eat his FF lc AM meal, so he ate beef & broth baby food and tilapia for snacks. I continued with 1.5 dosage. I am hoping after this bounce that he surfs nicely with this decrease. I picked up Mirataz from the vet today and will give him a dose shortly. Hopefully, it will increase his appetite, so he eats his PM lc meal and snacks tonight.

Wishing everyone a calm day and safe surf!

*Update - Butch received a dose of his Mirataz +7 (4 PM). I gave him an FF appetizer at +9.5 with his Cerenia. PM meal he ate 3/4 FF 4%.

Nice job last night Madeline! I hope he eats for you soon, I can’t remember, is turning away from some the foods a new behavior for him?

No, it is not a new behavior. Butch has pancreatis, he takes Cerenia daily. Every now and then he turns his nose up to his normal food. Sometimes I change the flavors or entice with sprinkle of grated cheese. When nothing works, I have to give him a dose of Mirataz. I am happy he is eating the baby food and tilapia but neither one has any carbs.

That was a wild night, Madeline! I'm sorry he's going through a rough patch--I know it's disconcerting when he goes low like he did. I hope he comes back down for you into normal ranges (but not too low, Butch!), and that his appetite perks up.
Yes, it was. I was defiantly frightened with Butch dropping and being alone with him.
Thank you for the well wishes, Butch just reached his +6 and he's blue on the Libre app. Paws crossed his appetite will be normal.

Was he having a flare up of pancreatitis yesterday (and now still?) Is that way he wouldn't eat?
Sooooo scary, Madeline. I was so worried about both of you last night! I know how hard you worked to keep him safe, that's so terrifying.

I had to drop Ivy's dose a lot while she was having that bout of pancreatitis! It was so crazy.

I'm glad he is eating for you today!!
He takes Cerenia all the time? Does that keep things stable for him usually? If so, what dose do you give him?

Sending lots of hugs and good wishes, I really hope you both get some needed rest!!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I believe he was having a flare up. He gets finicky with his food sometimes but always eats the FF grill, he loves that. He wanted nothing to do with it.
I am going to give him the Mirataz dose. I picked it up from the vet today.

Yes, I give daily 1/4 tab of 16mg of Cerenia with his PM meal. It is keeping him stable. I use the Mirataz as needed.

I dropped Butch's dose last night; he's surfing yellow after his pink morning. After the bounce and depot drain, hoping it's a good dose for him.

Hoping he eats well and the dose works once it settles. And paws crossed for some rest for you my friend :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Very scary night for you both, but you did a great job keeping him safe despite his not wanting to eat (I know that must have been so difficult! :() and he barely even bounced! I hope this dose ends up working out nicely for him and that the Mirataz is a huge help. :bighug:

Thank you so much, Brianna :bighug:
Butch did eat a little better and I decided to give another dose today.
He surfed nicely today. Hoping tonight is calm. I always get more nervous in the evening!
Wishing you and Xander a calm night and safe surf :bighug::cat::bighug:
