? Cerenia for Anti-Inflammatory? (pancreatitis)

Staci & Ivy

Ivy had a bout with pancreatitis about 1.5 weeks ago and seems to be coming to the end of it.

(Many thanks for everyone who helped with advice and support, it was SO helpful and appreciated!) :bighug::bighug:

She's been on 12 mg once a day, (she's around 15 pounds) the vet mentioned he likes it for anti-inflammatory properties.
I wonder if it's something worth continuing indefinitely (or is there something better?) to help prevent another bout of that awful situation again?

I know some cats around here do take it as a maintenance dose for various reasons, some for the reason mentioned above.

Anyone have experience or thoughts?

Thanks!:cat:

I’m assuming you are talking about the cerenia her as it is in your subject line.
I think you need to be guided by your vet on this. I'm not sure I would continue it indefinitely though.

I found Sheba seemed to get pancreatic flares when she got stressed. For example twice when I had to go into hospital she had a flare. Just something to be aware of.

Yes, it was Cerenia I was indicating she is taking.
Ivy gets very stressed when she has to go to the vet. So not a great situation.
Thank you for the information, Bron :bighug:
