Poor Ivy and poor you. The PSL is not as accurate as the other test. It just makes acute pancreatitis unlikely. Even if it is you would just treat the symptoms so don’t bitger testing now. How much food did you give with the pill? You just want enough to push it through the esophagus and tge. Wait 30-45 minutes to feed. You could try pilling and then chasing with water. It would not hurt to give her a break and wait until the morning though. The meds need to work before trying to feed.

I’m watching this with high anxiety. What would I do in this situation if I’ve given a full dose and he starts vomiting and won’t eat/keep anything down. I look at the 68 on Ivy’s spreadsheet and I can’t imagine dealing with that.

I didn’t give any food with the pill @tiffmaxee
Just gave with syringe of water.
Then several minutes later she puked.
Do you think the Cerenia could have made it into her system at all or do you think she puked it back up and it didn’t even have a chance to do any thing?

Should I try to give another Cerenia tomorrow morning??

And do you think I should just give up on all meds for tonight and let her system rest? I think that’s what you may be saying.

I guess I could try to give her ondansetron around 5 AM and try to feed her around 6 AM, which is her normal feed time.
Then I’m just hoping she’s not vomiting again before she eats or will eat. (Seem like a good plan?)

Won’t be due for another round of mirtazapine until tomorrow afternoon that will be 24 hours after the last dose given.

I’m not sure why that’s the pancreatic test they ran, but I guess it is what it is, so I just have to hope that she doesn’t have a problem there based on the test she did have.

Thank you, Elise :bighug:

Tiger gets cerenia every day as a prevention how ever when he has been sick and vomiting the cerenia acts pretty quickly, like within 30 minutes. So it must get into the system fairly quickly. How long between taking it and when she vomited? It seems to dissolve almost instantaneously too. Many times I haven’t gotten a second try with the pill shooter because it’s gotten wet on the first try and just melted in the shooter. Sorry I’m not more help but have had experience with cerenia at least. :bighug::bighug:

Hope you and little miss Ivy are managing to get some rest Staci.
I see she has dipped into the dark greens but no limes. That's good news.
Thinking of you and sending healing vibes :bighug:

Staci I hope Ivy starts eating soon. I’d be a wreck having given a full dose if my boy vomitex and wouldn’t eat. I’ve seen @Bron and Sheba (GA) give really good tips for cats not eating, and I think @Suzanne & Darcy also (sorry to all if my bad old lady memory fails me). I hope someone drops by who knows what to do.

Thank you, Marje! I’ll have to order these products. I always buy whatever you tell me to get because it’s always so helpful.

I did not see your comment yesterday so I will go back and read it. (Been nuts)

I was already prepared to veto the Flagyl if they were going to try to make me use that. Ivy did not do well with it in the past.

I also increased his Visbiome Vet to two capsules a day instead of one.

Do you think I should increase her Adored Beast probiotic (she gets a pinch BID, per Holly).
I 100 percent recommend Vsibiome Vet probiotic. I use it in my IBD and FIV+ cats.
