GA Mr Kitty - 10/19/24

Hi all,

I feel bad this is 4 months later, but life has been so busy

Mr Kitty passed 10/19/24, peacefully, after a "short" battle with CHF.

The vet found a heart murmur earlier in the year, but we did not pursue further testing/imaging because Mr Kitty did not tolerate anesthesia well (we lost him once that way but was revived).

He took a fairly sudden turn in early October. He had fluid buildup around his lungs and abdomen, which they were able to drain and buy us some time. The vet also think he may have had a stroke at some point. He spent his last days wandering the neighborhood with us in the sunshine, going on adventures in the woods and being a ferocious little arthritic panther stalking his prey....at 0.00005 miles per hour haha

We miss him dearly, but I am glad we were able to euthanize him before he was really suffering.

Wendy - if you are still maintaining the acro tracker, I can update it. Official cause of death was CHF, he was off cabergoline completely for 2 years and never relapsed. 3.5 years-ish after initial acro dx. We never did get a good handle on this thyroid.

Melissa I am so sad to read Mr Kitty has taken his journey to the rainbow bridge. He was such a fighter with you my his side.
Fly free Mr Kitty and I hope you are chasing lots of prey at the rainbow bridge cat_wings>o:rb_icon:

I hope you and the family are well.

Oh, Melissa. I miss you. I was just thinking about you yesterday… thinking about how your baby girl must now be getting big (not to mention your other two!) and I was wondering about Mr. Kitty because I knew he had the thyroid problems going on and other emerging issues. I am sad to think he’s not with you. You really did give him a great life. He was an amazing survivor! How old was Mr. Kitty?

Hi Melissa I swear I was just thinking of you and Mr Kitty yesterday . I thought of how he was doing every now and then but mostly yesterday. I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm so glad he spent his last wandering the neighborhood with you and enjoying the sunshine , going on adventures in the woods and stalking his prey.
You were an amazing Mom to him.
I'm also glad you helped him pass before he was really suffering. I miss you and Mr Kitty being on the board. I hope your family is doing well.
I had to let Tyler go this past August due to small cell lymphoma.
Fly high sweet Mr Kitty you will be missed . I hope you are catching a lot of mice at the Rainbow Bridge
Love and hugs Melissa :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Melissa, I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like he had a great life, but then for us it's never long enough.

I think of you often and will always, always be grateful for your help with Newman and your understanding my limitations.

My best to you and your family.

Linda

(((Melissa))) so sorry to hear it was Mr. Kitty’s time to join some FDMB friends at the bridge.:bighug::bighug: He had an amazing life with you, but heart issues are tough. Heart murmurs can also be benign, age related. Other heart issues can sneak up on you. I am glad he had a few sunny days of adventure before he left.

I never did maintain the acro tracker, though I do look at it occasionally so worth keeping up to date if you can.
