Good evening,
I am sorry for not posting this week but life is quite stressful. Since the last urine test at the end of december showed three germs in her urine, I watched her closely for any symptoms. Because Binie can't take any form of amoxicillin and one of the germs is multi-resistant, the vet follows the strategy to only treat with antibiotics, if she develops symptoms.
So I was watching her closely all the time. I was already alarmed that her bg kept creeping up since days. On Monday she started to have soft poop several times a day, every time she peed. I could also see, that she was grooming her belly and private parts slightly more than usual. She was eating good and people who don't know her would say she acts normal. Yesterday evening I found pee on her side of the bed, so it was clear there is something wrong.
We went to the vet today and she made a check-up. Hearts and lungs sound normal which was good, because she found the rapid weight gain alarming. We decided that it might be the germs we found in December which are troubling her but we will do another urine test. I was lucky to catch some tonight and I bring it to the vet tomorrow. Anyhow, I asked for already starting an antibiotic which helps for the germs she had last time. I simply don't want to lose time and to keep her in pain. After I catched the urine, I started with Pradofloxacin. She also got buscopan against the cramps and we made a blood panel. Results come hopefully tomorrow.
I really pray the antibiotics work, as we are running out of options otherwise.
The vet was a bit surprised we went up with the insulin so much but after I showed her the ss and she saw all the tests she just took a note in Binies file.
I hope everyone has a safe and boring day!
